Coronation Street’s Maureen Lipman addresses future as Evelyn Plummer after six-year stint

Since 2018, Maureen Lipman, a Coronation Street actress, has played the outspoken grandma Evelyn Plummer, played by Tyrone Dobbs.

Evelyn Plummer, a beloved character on the venerable ITV soap opera Coronation Street, has just discussed her future on the cobbles with Maureen Lipman.

Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) discovered his grandmother Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) after he made the decision six years prior to investigate his lineage.

In the present, Evelyn has solidified her position on Coronation Street and is living there with Tyrone, Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine), and their kids Ruby (Billie Naylor) and Hope (Isabella Flanagan).

The reveal of Tyrone’s mother Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), Evelyn’s daughter, earlier this year has also brought attention to the pensioner’s background before she settled in at number nine.

Lipman’s decision to stay in the ITV drama is a welcome one for fans of Evelyn.

“You’ve been signed up to do another year [on Coronation Street],” Alan said in the interview.

In response, Lipman said, “Yeah, I have been signed up for another year.

“Oh my goodness, it keeps you on your game, and that’s good for you.” “I mean, everything is still completely fascinating to me,” she said.

Alan said, “No, it’s stimulating,” to her statement, “I don’t get bored with this business and I don’t suppose you do either.”

As Tyrone’s former flame Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) reappears on the scene and reveals that she gave birth to his son Dorin, Evelyn finds herself in the midst of a key plot point at the moment.

Alina has requested to temporarily leave Dorin in his and Fiz’s care until the trial is complete because the trafficking ring criminals are still pursuing her. However, when will it be safe for her to return?
