Emmerdale face from the past returns to destroy Caleb and Ruby’s lives

There is drama ahead for Caleb and Ruby (Picture: ITV)

Since introducing himself as Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) half-brother back in 2022, Caleb Miligan (William Ash) has remained a fixture on Emmerdale, captivating fans from the beginning.

Fans gasped when his scheme to unseat Kim Tate (Claire King) was eventually exposed, and he was at the core of a big twist when it was discovered that he was also the father of Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) and the son of Frank Tate.

The drama, however, didn’t end there since his wife Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) soon joined him in the hamlet. What a breath of fresh air she has been.

There has been no shortage of drama—and comedy—when it comes to Ruby, from her feud with Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) to the dissolution of Tracy and Nate Robinson’s (Amy Walsh and Jurell Carter) marriage.

Viewers have just witnessed her run over Ethan Anderson (Emile John) in reprisal for him abandoning her kid Nicky, which she subsequently revealed to Caleb.

Since then, Bonnie and Clyde from Emmerdale have reconciled with Ethan’s family, but can this reconciliation last?

As new employer Sophie Roper has disclosed, trouble is definitely in store for Caleb and Ruby, regardless of whether it originates from the Anderson family.

As Sophie gave us an overview of what to anticipate from the community named after herself, she said, “We’ve got Caleb and Ruby, who’ve landed in the village and had a real impact but we don’t know much about them.”

Many details of their past, especially Ruby’s, are still unclear. A little glimpse into their history will reappear, providing us with further insight into the complex dynamics of their family and the complex connection between husband and wife.

There is a lot about Caleb and Ruby and their larger tale to look forward to.

In the most recent scenes, Ruby and Caleb were saddened when their son Nicky made the decision to leave the community with his partner Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana). Both men had reached their breaking point and could no longer tolerate the falsehoods from their family.

This week, the pair focused on Jai (Chris Bisson), who revealed to Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) that he had given his sister Priya ownership of Holdgate Farm, the sizable Georgian estate outside the hamlet where he had previously resided.

In addition, he informed her that Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) had purchased Tenants Cottage.

She suddenly became fearful of her future, wondering whether she would lose her own home as he was now seemingly ‘skint’.

While stating that honesty was the best policy, Jai seemed to be innocent, but later on, we caught him laughing with Caleb about the whole thing at Mill Cottage.

Caleb put poison in his ear and comforted him as he started to question if he was making the right decision.

But as he was leaving, Ruby went up to her cunning husband, who admitted to her that he “almost feels sorry for him.”

The two chuckled, and it was obvious he was up to something.

What plans does the pair have? And when Jai eventually finds out, what will be his reaction? Could this narrative serve as the catalyst for the plot that will introduce Ruby and Caleb’s new addition?
