Those who follow soap operas will remember that Rowan, a mystery newcomer, has singled out Leanne for his “self-improvement group,” The Institute. In Leanne’s hour of need, Rowan has also been yanking her away from her sister Toyah Battersby and lover Nick Tilsley.

Using his techniques and coaching her to talk aloud about elements of her life, Rowan has been helping Leanne open up about her history and the pain she has experienced. Unexpectedly, it was discovered that Rowan had been secretly recording everything Leanne said. Viewers will naturally remember that Toyah has been quite dubious of Rowan and has shown worry about Leanne.

The money was left for her by her late grandmother Deirdre, but her grandfather Ken Barlow would not release it. But Ken was convinced by Leanne that it was real, so he agreed to release Amy’s money.
