This next week marks both baby Charli’s first birthday and Dean Wicks’ (Matt Di Angelo) trial; balancing both will not be simple because of Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).

Stacey will have to go to Dean’s trial with the other members of The Six, Sharon (Letitia Dean), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Suki (Balvinder Sopal), and Denise (Diane Parish), even if she wasn’t the one who killed Keanu (Danny Walters) at Christmas because she was there when Linda (Kellie Bright) killed him.

Leading lady Letitia Dean summarised Sharon’s desperate state before the trial by saying, “Sharon has been in fight or flight since Christmas Day, and she desperately needs to close that chapter.”

The little issue of a murder trial, in which Sharon and the other ladies will have to lie through their teeth, is the only thing preventing her from being free.

“She knows she could easily find herself back under suspicion if the trial doesn’t go as planned. Let’s not forget that she was the main suspect just a few months ago.” They are all within touching distance of freedom, but this is a very hazardous strategy, so it would be ridiculous to expect it to be simple.

In the midst of all of this, the Slater family is getting ready to celebrate Charli, Lily’s (Lillia Turner) first birthday.

Before testifying in court, Mo (Laila Morse) offers Stacey some pearls of wisdom. However, following a dispute with Lily, Mo reminds Stacey that she neglected to assist with Charli’s party planning, leaving Stace overcome with remorse.

Later that day, Stacey puts the hardship of her family behind her as she goes to court to deliver her witness testimony.

Stacey makes an attempt to attend Charli’s party during the week in an attempt to lessen her guilt, but things take a turn for the worst when she burns the birthday cake due to distraction.

The Slaters eventually come together for the karaoke party at Number 31. Sadly, Stacey’s forced departure from the festivities spoils their wonderful afternoon.

What will Stacey’s future in Walford hold once Dean’s trial concludes at the end of this week?
