Fans are fuming over Belle’s inability to out the abusive behaviour of husband Tom
The Emmerdale domestic violence narrative that centres on Belle Dingle and Tom King has infuriated IRATE fans.
Fans have been glued to the ITV soap opera as it draws to a dramatic climax this week, following months of Tom assaulting and dominating his wife Belle through coercion.
An hour-long episode written by scriptwriters will have Belle walking about the town in a stupor following yet another nasty argument with her husband.
The abused woman will experience three different possible outcomes in this special episode as she considers telling her family and the police everything.
However, viewers of the soap opera are “irritated” that Belle hasn’t captured any proof of Tom’s fear so she may expose him to the local public.
On a soap opera forum, a spectator said the writers had “dumbed down” Belle “to fit the latest drawn-out plot.”
Another claimed authors were “dragging it out,” while a third labelled it “daft” that she wouldn’t take out her phone to videotape him.
One displeased admirer said, “Why isn’t Belle filming any of this? It would be simple to expose him in public when you catch him in the act. I find her frailty incredibly annoying.
She’s successfully avoided him. The remainder is simple.
“Probably because the storyline would be over if she did,” someone other said. I’m tired of Tom’s arrogant expression.”
“I think they are dragging it out too much,” said a third. Indeed, one would have expected she would have the common sense to check the house for cameras, bugs, and other things now that she had the foresight to question Ryan about tracking and other things.
“And definitely replace the locks once again; ask Cain or Charity to arrange for a helper. Alternatively, have Ryan assist her in setting up her own cameras so she can make sure Tom hasn’t allowed himself in.
“I find it hard to understand why she’s still living there by herself, even though there must be many unpleasant memories. Now that Piper has moved on, why doesn’t she simply pack up and return home with Lydia and Sam?
“The plot has been handled so nicely, so it’s upsetting that they are now only attempting to drag it out too long.
However, another understanding fan cautioned: “It’s actually been said that the time after leaving an abusive relationship is the most dangerous for someone who has been in an abusive relationship.”
“A mistress does not simply leave their partner behind.”
“When you’re in an abusive relationship, your confidence has been so severely damaged that you’re not necessarily thinking straight,” said another.
After using cameras to spy on Belle and leading people to assume she is mentally disturbed, Tom has stunned the public.
In addition, he ran their dog Piper over, leading Belle to think she had passed away.
When fans learnt that the adored dog was still alive and had been brutally put away by Tom, they were appalled.
