Ruby Fox-Milligan’s mother will soon appear on television, according to Emmerdale. Ruby, the mother of Caleb Milligan’s kid Nicky and the estranged wife of the latter, moved into the community earlier this year.

In 2022, the father and son team entered the made-up Yorkshire village as part of a scheme to defraud Kim Tate of Home Farm, which Caleb felt was his birthright. It was discovered that he was the son of late Dingle matriarch Faith Dingle and Kim’s former boyfriend Frank Tate.

However, Ruby’s visit soon caused a stir, especially among the Dingles as she revealed her husband’s affair with Tracy Robinson, his nephew’s wife, and developed a case of the green-eyed monster. Ruby and Moira Dingle had been at odds recently, which led to a nearly fatal barn fire.

But soon, Ruby and Celeb will once again be in the spotlight as information about their past is revealed by the return of Ruby’s mother Helen, played by Sharon Maughan, who hasn’t seen her daughter in thirty years.

However, Helen has a very valid reason for wanting to get back in touch with her daughter—she is terminally ill. Actor William Ash, who plays Caleb, disclosed to the Manchester Evening News and other media outlets that Rub’s parents removed her from their lives because they disapproved of their marriage to Caleb.

“They hated him because he was from a care home, had no family, and they felt he was beneath their daughter,” he clarified. Helen was therefore quite critical and snobbish. Ruby was given a deadline by Helen and Ruby’s father. In essence, they stated, “Look, we don’t want anything to do with you if you want to be with this boy.” Ruby was essentially just sliced to death.

William revealed that he was prepared to stand in the way of their possible reconciliation, saying, “He just doesn’t trust anything that she would ever say since she’s been so deceitful and acted poorly in the past.

He makes the decision to go see what she truly wants because, if Ruby is on her deathbed, it’s possible that she needs some type of closure and that they can work things out. That turns out not to be the case.

Sharon Maughan is set to play Helen. The 74-year-old will be familiar to many from the 1980s Nescafé instant coffee advertisement that starred the “Gold Blend couple.” In addition, she is wed to actor Trevor Eve. She has acted in the films The Bank Job and the TV series Casualty, Heartbeat, Inspector Morse, and Murder, She Wrote.

Will remarked, “She is an amazing actress because she only comes in for two episodes,” when talking about his collaboration with Sharon. We had just one day to shoot. We were performing these hard sequences together in a private hospital room, just the two of us battling it out.

“She was outstanding. Getting into any program, even for a single day, and having a lot of emotional moments is difficult. However, she was incredible and a true force of nature.”

When Caleb and Helen meet, they dispute. Neither of them is prepared to back down, so Caleb makes an agreement with Helen to bring Ruby to see her in exchange for £100,000. Later on, Ruby starts to suspect that Caleb is returning home later than expected, and he struggles with his guilt regarding the arrangement he made with Ruby’s mother, who is terminally sick, without bringing it up.

However, what would happen if Ruby becomes aware of it? Will clarified, saying, “I think he understands that she will be furious if she finds out he saw Helen and left behind. It will truly be a question of whether she can ever trust him in the future. At that point, the stakes are really high.”
