A face from the past returns to end Joel once and for all in Coronation Street

Next week, Coronation Street will welcome an enigmatic visitor who seems out to finally cement Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) doom.

DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), and Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) have made it their goal to attempt and bring down the evil attorney who has lured and molested young children after he was freed without charge last month.

In scenes that will premiere on Monday, a historical figure steps forward, leading to a significant development in the case.

After her son Frankie was born prematurely last month, Lauren was in the hospital keeping vigil at his bedside when a mysterious person showed up and said they might be able to stop Joel.

When damning texts between Joel and a lady named Ellie were found on his former work phone, that is when they arrived.

Viewers witnessed Dee-Dee receiving the gadget last week from an irate receptionist as she visited Joel’s former workplace, Walcotts.

The texts between Joel and Ellie were later discovered by DS Swain when the phone was examined by an IT acquaintance who owed her a favour.

Later, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) offered to assist in finding Ellie, but even after she was located, Ellie refused to discuss her encounter with Joel with DS Swain.

After that, Dee-Dee told Daniel Osborne (Rob Mallard) about it, and he offered to contact Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart-Simpson), Ellie’s ex-boyfriend, to ask her to attempt to get her to talk. Has Ellie spoken up since then?

Next week, Lisa and Dee-Dee will also make progress in their search for proof connecting Joel to the medications he used to induce an abortion on Lauren, which caused her to go into preterm labour.

They discover the restaurant van has a dashcam and watch the video in an attempt to identify the business who gave Joel the box containing the narcotics.

When they learn that the package came from a for-profit medical facility, Lisa contacts them to give them the sender’s information, and they learn something shocking.
