After bringing up a previous plot element, Emmerdale viewers are certain that Tom King is still targeting victims in addition to Belle and Amelia.
Supporters of the hit ITV soap opera Emmerdale think they have discovered yet more victim of Tom King.
Lately, the program has been delving into a plot focused on abusive and coercive control involving Tom (James Chase) and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper). The Dingles pledged to protect Belle after she fearlessly left Tom and told her family about his violent actions in a previous episode.
Last week, as suspicions about him grew, the evil Tom took down every surveillance camera he had installed at Belle’s house in order to spy on her. In the meantime, he told his uncle Jimmy King that he was innocent and that Belle’s accusations were untrue. Tom’s employment at the neighbourhood veterinary clinic was terminated as word of his violent attitude spread.
Even though the majority of the villagers united against the criminal, some continued to stand up for Tom in spite of his evil activities. According to the Manchester Evening News, despite Belle’s warnings about Tom’s aggressive tendencies, Amelia Spencer, Tom’s new love interest, also supported him, and Jimmy stood by his nephew, insisting on his innocence.
It looked as though Tom had vanished in Friday’s show, but his cunning scheme was exposed by the shocking conclusion. Amelia, who had earlier faced Belle, met Tom outside the hamlet and provided the cunning villain with information.
Amelia hoped for more time with Tom, but he coldly rejected her, telling her to keep spying so he could get divorced from Belle and spend more time with her.
Using social media to draw attention to a previous plot detail, fans speculate that Belle and Amelia may not be the only victims of Tom. As viewers will remember, Tom had his car stolen the previous year when he was ambushed by an unidentified bunch of thugs. Many fans theorised at the time that Tom could have staged the incident to win over the viewers, but watchers are now questioning whether there’s more to it.
“Does anyone remember this time last year when Tom’s car was stolen and he was just randomly beaten up?” said one individual. A separate account said, “I was thinking about that recently. Nothing happened with that storyline. Could this be tied in to previous abusive relationships that we’re not aware of?” Really peculiar. Another wrote, “I hope the writers haven’t just forgotten about it,” while a third added, “Fair comment…it’s safe to assume he has done it before.” Still another fan said, “I assumed he set that up himself to start into the whole manipulative storyline.”
