Emmerdale: 5 theories on what’s really happened to Nate after ‘bizarre’ exit

Nate and John look serious Emmerdale

Fans claim Nate’s exit was the ‘worst’…

Many viewers of Emmerdale have been curious about Nate’s true fate following his “bizarre” departure from the Dales.

Jurell Carter, who plays Nate, has stated that he was expected to depart the serial opera for several months. Fans were now perplexed by his abrupt and ostensibly unfinished exit.

Nate has been a part of a few bizarre stories in the last few weeks of Emmerdale, such as Moira trying to kiss him before learning she had a brain tumour.

Emmerdale: Nate departure

Even when Nate turned down Moira, Cain lost control and assaulted him. After discovering Nate’s participation, Tracy realised there would be no hope of their reunion.

Since discussing whether or not to face Moira with John Sugden, Nate has not been seen on camera.

Nate only had text conversations with the characters on this Monday, September 16) episode. Tracy said to Victoria and Vanessa that he ordered her to give up contacting him since he was a “mess.”

Currently, a number of admirers believe that Nate’s exit is more complicated than it first appears. These are five hypotheses on what may have actually happened to him.

Emmerdale theory 1: Nate kidnapped?

A admirer on social media opined that he could have been killed. “Is Nate really still alive, or has his phone been taken by someone and he’s dead somewhere?”

In response to the possible murder case, John may be a suspect, according to a few comments. Some speculated that he may be the one sending the texts to confuse Tracy and other people.

“It appears that Nate is either abducted and leaving a message, or he is actually in Shetland. Has Jurell written a farewell message?,” a second person speculated.

Theory 2: John killed him?

At first, Nate was thinking about going to work as a farmer in Shetland. Who sent the text—Nate or someone else? In that village, you never know,” questioned a third.

Previous episodes of the program have alluded to John’s alleged “dark side,” with him becoming irate with Victoria after she discovered tags bearing the name “Aidan Moore” in his possession.

There is plenty about his history that is unclear and up to interpretation.

Theory 3: Nate took his own life

It’s also possible that Nate killed himself off-screen without alerting his loved ones.

“When will the news that Nate committed suicide be announced?” enquired of a user on X.

After the disagreement at work and his breakup with Tracy, Nate has been under strain.

In addition to Cain’s attack, there are a few ideas that suggest he was attempting self-harm.

Theory 4: Waiting for reconciliation

One perceptive spectator thought that Nate was still in the Dales, only waiting for the right opportunity to come back.

“Have they yet to shoot Zak’s funeral? A member on X said, “I could imagine Nate remaining away till then and coming back home to make amends with Cain, Moira, and Tracy before leaving for good.

Is Nate waiting for things to settle down a bit before making his move again?

Seemingly, his ultimate objective was to get Tracy back. Could they both travel to Shetland at the same time?

Theory 5: He’s off to Shetland

One of the most popular ideas is that Nate left the Dales behind when he took the job in Shetland. After his recent turmoil, he could have seized the ideal moment.

Jurell posted a statement on Instagram after leaving.

“At first, Nate made the decision to move to Shetland for his family. He simply felt that he was in a rut,” he clarified.

He wasn’t earning a lot of money while working at the farm. Nate stated that he knew something had to happen since he could hardly afford to rent a place on his present salary. The big shift he needed was to move to Shetland.

“Nate desired a separate area for himself, Frankie, and their family. He lost his family and everything else, so now everything has crumbled.
