Renowned actress Sharon Maughan is set to join the ITV serial opera as Ruby’s estranged mother Helen. Will Caleb let her get back in touch with Ruby as she gets to know him again?
Ruby Fox-Milligan’s estranged mother will soon be a guest on Emmerdale, as actress Sharon Maughan will play Helen Fox for a brief period of time. However, because information regarding Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash)’s connection is likely to surface, elegant mother Helen hasn’t seen her daughter in thirty years.
The ITV soap opera’s upcoming scenes see Caleb being called to his affluent mother-in-law’s hospital bedside. Helen is going to reveal to her daughter that she is terminally sick and that she is eager to see her again.
After a while, Caleb accepts, but at a cost. He promises Helen that if she coughs up £100k, he would make arrangements for Ruby to visit her again. But is Helen willing to pay the price to be with Ruby again? Earlier this year, Ruby moved to the Yorkshire town to be with their son Nicky and as the estranged wife of businessman Caleb.
The father and son arrived at Christmas 2022 in an attempt to con Kim Tate (Claire King) out of Home Farm, thus they had previously lived there for a few years.
It was soon discovered that Caleb was the estranged half-brother of Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), as well as the son of Kim’s former husband Frank Tate (Norman Bowler) and Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter).
However, terminally sick Helen will see Caleb again in upcoming moments; whose secrets will come to light? William Ash has disclosed that Ruby’s friendship with his character Caleb caused Helen and her husband to remove her out of their life.
“They hated him because he’d come out of a care home, he didn’t have any family and thought he was beneath their daughter,” the actor revealed in an interview with the MEN and other media.
“Well, Helen was quite critical and snobbish. Ruby was given a deadline by Helen and Ruby’s father. In essence, they stated, “Look, we don’t want anything to do with you if you want to be with this boy.” Ruby was really simply fatally sliced.”
He went on to explain, “He simply doesn’t believe anything that she’d ever say, since she’s been so deceptive and acted poorly in the past. That’s why he doesn’t trust Helen and her intentions with Ruby.
He makes the decision to go see what she truly wants since, if Ruby is on her deathbed, it’s possible that she needs some type of closure and that they can work things out. That turns out not to be the case.
Will said, “She is an amazing actress because she only comes in for two episodes,” when discussing his experience working with Sharon. Our entire filming day was limited. We were doing these hard sequences together in a private hospital room, just the two of us battling it out.
“She was outstanding. Getting into any program, even for a single day, and having a lot of emotional moments is difficult. However, she was incredible and a true force of nature.”
Although actress Sharon Maughan has been a cinematic star for decades, she has signed up for a brief role on the ITV soap opera. The 74-year-old is well-known around the world for her classic Nescafe Gold Blend TV commercials from the 1980s and 1990s. She has also acted in a plethora of well-known films and television shows that date back to the 1970s.
Most famously, Sharon played Tricia Williams in Holby City (2003–2006), Anna in By the Sword Divided (1983–1985), and Kate in The Enigma Files (1980). Along with numerous more roles, she has also appeared in Inspector Morse, Cinderella, Heartbeat, Casualty, Waking the Dead, and Rain Stops Play.
In addition, Sharon is a producer, director, and businesswoman. She started her own skincare line in 2009 after experiencing health issues as a result of a sensitivity to salicylates, sometimes referred to as salicylic overload. Sharon created FaceWise with the finest natural ingredients.
Actor Trevor Eve, who has starred in several TV series and films including Dracula, The Interceptor, Unforgotten, Waking the Dead, David Copperfield, Shadow Chasers, and many more, is married to Sharon in other places.
Actress Alice Eve, actor and producer Jack Eve, and musician George Eve are the three children of Sharon and Trevor.
