ITV Emmerdale’s Amy Nuttall devastated as mum dies from brain tumour following husband’s ‘affair’

Former Emmerdale star Amy Nuttall has revealed her devastation after her mum passed away from a brain tumour, as she shared a heartbreaking tribute to her ‘best friend’ online

Following her rumoured divorce from her husband for a second time, Amy Nuttall, a former star of Emmerdale and Downton Abbey, is devastated to learn that her mother died suddenly from a brain tumour.

The actress, 41, posted a series of pictures of her cherished mother on Instagram along with the heartbreaking news.

Amy wrote: “As I type this, my heart is pounding quite loudly. I say farewell to my lovely, loving mother yesterday. She was given a grade 4 glioblastoma diagnosis in July.

Saying that was the greatest surprise would be putting too fine point on it. On October 30, 23 at 5:05 p.m., with my amazing family at my side, we helped care for her until the very last, when she passed away in my arms.”

She went on, “She brought her ridiculous sense of humour to the forefront every day, never complained, and humbled us all with how she handled this cruel diagnosis.”

“You were my rock, mom. My closest pal. Though I’m not sure how I’ll manage without you, I know that you’ll always be there to support me, just as you always were. I’m grateful, mother; you gave me the most amazing days of my life.”

Prominent friends and supporters of Amy swiftly offered their sympathies in the comments section.

Joanne Froggatt, her co-star on Downton Abbey, posted on Instagram: “Darling, I am so, very sorry. I’m sending you my undying love.”

“I am so sorry for your very sad loss, Amy,” an admirer said. Losing a parent is such a harsh sickness that causes anguish with every breath. Another said, “Dear Amy, I lost my dad three months ago and I feel your pain. Sending love and strength your way.” I’m sending you so much love, but the grief never goes away.”

“I’m so, so sorry for your loss,” said the third. I am completely sad. In September, my beautiful father passed away. I am aware of the suffering, shock, dread, and numbness you are experiencing at this moment. Take care of yourself, Xx.” A fourth person said, “I lost my mother last year. It’s the most awful sensation ever. She will always be on your mind, and while you will learn to live with it, you will never get over it.”

The depressing information was revealed after Amy Buchan’s purported second divorce from her husband, Broadchurch star Andrew Buchan.

According to reports, Amy is “gutted” that her marriage to Andrew, 44, is beyond repair. The pair had already broken up during Christmas of last year because to accusations that Andrew had cheated on Amy with Leila Farzad, his 39-year-old Better co-star.

They apparently reconciled in the summer of this year and gave Andrew a list of very tight guidelines to abide by. The couple, who were married in 2012 and had two children, allegedly parted ways permanently at this point.

“It took a lot for Amy to give the marriage another chance, but she thought it was worth one last roll of the dice,” a source told The Sun. She doesn’t think he’s cheated on her again, but there’s no indication that he has. Although she is clearly devastated, she also acknowledges that their time together is coming to an end.”
