With her evil father, Lawrence Robb, about to make his much anticipated Emmerdale debut, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), will always regret the day he crushed Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) heart.
Fans of the ITV soap opera will remember that Chloe’s father, a notorious crook, had her constantly monitored when she made her debut. He hired individuals to track his daughter’s movements and report back to him from behind bars.
The only information available about the guy in question was that he was not someone to be missed. In later scenes, she expressed her need to escape such dominance and imprisonment, and he ejected her.
The problematic plot was eventually abandoned, and Chloe’s biography was partially rewritten by the producers to indicate that her real mother was Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), a violent criminal’s employee.
It had seemed as if we may never learn the truth about Chloe’s father, but that is about to change with Kerry taking on a more paternal role and Chloe becoming a mainstay in the town.
As fans are aware, Mackenzie shattered Chloe’s heart when he recognised he was still much in love with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) even after months of attempting to persuade himself differently.
Mack broke the news to her on Monday’s (November 20) episode of the ITV soap opera. Later this week, Chloe went on the rampage, giving Charity a brutal slap for no apparent reason before leaving with Reuben and declaring that Mack would never see his son again.
Mack doesn’t realise that this is just the beginning of what’s to come, but he is holding out hope that he can find Chloe and prevent her from making the grave error of stealing his small baby.
“The Charity, Mackenzie, and Chloe love triangle has been bubbling away for about 18 months now, so at Christmas we’ll see that reach a bit more of a crescendo where Mackenzie pushes Chloe to her absolute limit and what we’ll see is her reach out to her father for help,” the Emmerdale boss said, discussing what’s coming up.
It goes without saying that prior tales have shown Chloe’s father to be a dangerous man.
We are aware of how domineering he was towards Chloe and how scared others are of him, so it stands to reason that when she contacts him, he would assist Chloe in a special manner.
Will Mackenzie be able to use his words to get out of this one? We’ll have to wait and see, but I believe it’s safe to assume that the effects of that will be felt far into the next year and beyond.
