Coronation Street spoilers: Ed’s family ripped apart as he takes shocking action

Trevor Michael Georges’ character Ed Bailey is going to get into big trouble on Coronation Street because of his gambling addiction.

Not long after Leo Thompkins’s (Joe Frost) body was discovered on a construction site, Ed returned to betting. Additionally, the builder’s actions almost resulted in Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) going to jail. Ed hid some cash in a bag that his son unintentionally picked up after he won a bet.

Michael was questioned by DS Swain (Vicky Myers) regarding his role in Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) scheme to steal the factory’s entire bank balance as he made his way to Underworld in an attempt to get his job back.

While Michael was doing his best to convince Swain that he was innocent, the detective noticed the cash—which didn’t look good—as he opened the bag.

Ed is taken aback when Granddad Sarge shows up early for Christmas. Ed is secretly terrified when Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) proposes a large family meal out and says they’ll pay for it.

Ed, who recently obtained a payday loan, looks through the racing pages in an attempt to obtain additional funds.

Sarge makes fun of Ed’s business brain while he watches the racing on his phone as the Baileys get together in the Bistro.

Joel (Calum Lill) is being quietly informed by Dee-Dee (Channqiue Sterling-Brown) that Sarge thinks their house was lost due to a poor business decision rather than her father’s gambling.

Ed is irritated to learn he lost as the race draws to a close.

Ed finds Tony while Ronnie pays for lunch, and he confesses that he can’t pay because he’s a gambler who has lost all of his money.

However, Ed asks Tony to remain silent as Ronnie gets closer.

Is this the time that Ronnie discovers the harm that Ed has caused to their company and way of life?

Trevor Michael Georges informed us that “the love of his family is the one thing that will always save Ed.”

He will always be saved because he loves his family more than he loves gambling. Ed prioritises his role as a father above that of a husband, builder, and addict. The suffering he has caused his family is unbearable. It hurts more to have loved ones realise they can’t rely on you and that you can deceive and mislead them than it does to lose money.

“The hardest part is whether you can always get the people you betrayed back, but with help and sensible discipline, you can recover the financial loss.”
