Joe Swash, the former star of EastEnders, has talked about the prospect of returning to the BBC One soap opera full-time.
Later this month, The Six – Revealed, a one-off EastEnders special, will be hosted by the former Mickey Miller star.
In the special, EastEnders icons Kellie Bright, Balvinder Sopal, Lacey Turner, Diane Parish, Gillian Taylforth, and Letitia Dean join the former I’m A Celebrity star.
Prior to their major holiday plot, the actors will explore the lives of their respective on-screen personas: Linda Carter, Suki Panesar, Stacey Slater, Denise Fox, Kathy Beale, and Sharon Watts.
Joe, meanwhile, is best known for his five years as Mickey in the enduring serial drama, which aired from 2003 to 2008 with a brief return in 2012.
Is it likely that his character will make a comeback to Walford, though?
Regarding the potential for a return, Joe remarked, “I really like that we still have a relationship with EastEnders after all these years.” The makeup, costume, and dressing rooms have all remained the same every time I’ve gone back.
“The carpet and doors are exactly the same.” So, whenever I visit that place again, I do get very homesick. When I performed that show, I was 21. A great deal has transpired since then.
You frequently overlook it. However, it’s really lovely. I’ll return whenever I have the opportunity. It’s something from my past and it’s a part of me.
Joe quickly reminded everyone that he doesn’t “have much to do with it” when it comes to making decisions, but he insisted that he would come back if the bosses were keen.
“They raise the dead, so if they truly desired me, they would know where I am,” he stated to The Mirror.
While waiting, fans can watch The Six – Revealed, an actor and presenter quizzing the most recognisable EastEnders stars, premiere on television next week.
