Following Joseph’s (William Flanagan) hospital visit, Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) and Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) relationship is suffering on Coronation Street.

Gemma poisoned Joseph by mistake last week.

Although it was a terrible mistake, social services had to visit the family after Joseph’s hospital visit and a doctor’s awareness of what transpired.

Upon her arrival, Caitlin (Gillian Jephcott) informed Gemma that she would need to relocate and would not be able to see her kids unattended while the investigation was underway.

Gemma thought Caitlin was calling her a bad parent after receiving the update, but Caitlin clarified that it was standard procedure and that she would shortly return home if she followed the guidelines.

Gemma, Paul (Peter Ash), and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) went to the courtroom on Monday, December 4, to witness Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) sentencing.

The news that the adored character would have to spend at least half of her three-month prison sentence behind bars devastated her loved ones.

Gemma came home from her trip to the penitentiary with mixed feelings for Bernie.

Then, a few weeks ago, she made contact with Big Garth, who was flogging the stolen gear as part of Bernie’s scheme.

Gemma tried to exact revenge, but in the end she was unsuccessful.

Gemma was at home talking to Joseph, who was suffering from a headache.

As she went into the kitchen to grab some painkillers, Joseph opened the door to let Caitlin in for another visit.

Caitlin wasn’t impressed by Gemma’s entry because she had broken the rules.

Caitlin sat down with her and Chesney and told them that if something similar occurred again, Joseph and the quads might be placed in foster care while the investigation was being conducted.

Following Caitlin’s departure, Chesney confronted Gemma, informing her that although everyone is currently having difficulties, she is the only one aggravating the situation.

Gemma was devastated, poor thing. She went back to Paul’s flat after grabbing her bag and coat.

There, Gemma was sobbing and worried about what would happen to her and Chesney if things didn’t improve.

Can they reconcile in the final weeks leading up to Christmas?

Or will things get worse when Joseph’s grandmother Linda (Jacqueline Leonord) shows up?
