Coronation Street spoilers: Evelyn’s devastating exit ‘confirmed’ as she faces serious consequences

Who in a million years would have guessed that Taylor Swift would pose a threat to Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman)’s future on Coronation Street?

Not Taylor Swift, the singer-songwriter who has become a global sensation, mind you. Evelyn finds a dog that is being mistreated by a man at the precinct, and she decides to save her. This dog is the centre of attention.

Once Evelyn returns the dog to the family, Hope (Isabella Flanagan) and Ruby (Billie Naylor) become enamoured with it right away and name it Taylor in honour of their favourite singer.

The man Evelyn took the dog from confronts her the next time she goes to the precinct and asks where she is; Evelyn replies that she doesn’t know.

Maureen Lipman informed us, “He threatens Evelyn twice and he is pretty dangerous and thuggish.” Evelyn is obviously terrified, but she won’t acknowledge it.

The man then focuses on Tyrone (Alan Halsall), calling the garage to give him his contact information and threatening dire consequences if the dog isn’t returned by 6 o’clock.

Tyrone, in a panic, discovers that Roy (David Neilson) has taken the dog to a rescue facility; however, Evelyn determines that they must go retrieve the dog and give her back to her owner.

She is in a tough situation because she loves Tyrone so much, especially when he threatens to hurt him if she doesn’t stop. Maureen clarified, “She realises she has to step back to protect her family.”

Evelyn is eager to expose the man because she believes he is operating an unlicensed puppy farm. As a dog lover herself, Maureen Lipman informed us that this plot is drawing attention to a crucial problem.

“I am aware that the RSPCA has provided advice,” she remarked.

“I conducted independent research and was astounded by what I found.” I was unaware that puppy farms are popping up all over the place, and these people are making billions of dollars selling these puppies for two thousand pounds at a time. They are also unregistered.

“Anyone wishing to get a new puppy or kitten in England must now buy direct from a breeder, or consider adopting from a rescue centre instead,” states Lucy’s law. Many people are still ignorant of this, particularly in the case of COVID-19 when everyone was clamouring for dogs. The fact that we are raising awareness is a good thing.

Evelyn’s interactions with the dog owner have demonstrated his brutality, and she is now convinced that he will turn the tables and accuse her of stealing his dog, putting her in danger of dire repercussions.

Is Evelyn’s tenure on Coronation Street coming to an end?
