With only one sentence in recent scenes, whereby rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) was confronted by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), EastEnders may have confirmed the corpse on the floor this Christmas.

The Six—Linda, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner)—were gathered around a dead man in a unique flash forward episode that aired back in February on EastEnders, hinting at a Christmas Day murder.

Viewers have been guessing about who may be on the floor and who could be the murderer ever since.

In that episode, Linda was horrified to see a picture of Dean and said she was afraid he might return to Walford. Eight months later, on Halloween, Linda’s worries came true, leading many fans to speculate that Dean may be on the verge of being killed.

Ollie, Linda’s kid, was itching to see the Beale’s Eels Christmas grotto, where Dean had just taken on the job of Santa.

But Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) pulled the children home when she realized it was Dean wearing the disguise.

Shortly after learning of the circumstances, Linda stormed over to Dean to vent her frustrations and offer a menacing warning.

“You stay away from my kids.” If you approach them one again, I will murder you.

Such damning words are significant given that the murder is just two weeks away, and we can definitely see Linda being pushed to the point of murdering Dean.

Not only that, but given Kathy’s statement in the flash future episode about having a wall of friends surrounding her to protect her from Dean, any one of the other five women would very probably beat him off if it meant defending Linda.

The likelihood of Linda being driven to murder has almost certainly risen since the episode ended with her falling off the wagon after Dean played her phony confession to Queen Vic.

Thus, is Dean the corpse on Christmas Day, and was Linda the one who killed him?
