Coronation Street Christmas spoilers: Dying Paul gets worse leading to devastating accident

As 2024 gets underway on Coronation Street, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) is experiencing worsening health and becomes less mobile, which leads to a horrific disaster.

Before we talk about the new year, let’s talk about Weatherfield’s Christmas Day.

The pair, who live with Paul and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank), are excited for a peaceful day with a bottle of bubbly and a movie.

Later, when they are unable to contact Paul, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney (Sam Aston) become concerned.

Ches and Todd (Gareth Pierce) burst down the door out of concern that Paul may have fallen, but they wind up getting more than they bargained for!

Oh no!

Paul is ecstatic to hear from Summer (Harriet Bibby) at the start of 2024 that her university lecturer has offered to take Paul for a ride on the sidecar of his motorbike later.

Summer’s tutor Dewey eventually shows up, but he only has the motorbike and no sidecar.

As a result, Summer and Billy are left to perform the challenging chore of hoisting Paul onto the bike’s pillion.

Poor Paul, all alone and dangling. Embarrassed, he tells Billy and Summer to put him down.

When Paul receives his voice talker device later in the week, he hesitantly plays some of his recorded lines using the app.

Billy then says they should simply forget about it when he finds out that the cost of travel insurance for their vacation is exorbitant because of Paul’s MND.

After learning about Paul’s postponed vacation in the pub, Gemma and David (Jack P Shepherd) attempt to cheer him up with sangria.

David brings an inebriated Paul back to the flat after a fun-filled afternoon.

Paul tells David he may leave when they get there since his PA Moses is about to arrive.

He tries to pull himself to his wheelchair but falls to the ground when he sees no sign of Moses and Paul, who are in a great need of the lavatory.

Who is going to help Paul?
