With Christmas just over a week away, the soap operas are bringing all the juicy, delectable twists in the upcoming episodes, so grab some popcorn and get ready for mayhem.

Under the direction of CEO Chris Clenshaw, EastEnders is having one of its best runs ever. Next week is another genuinely unmissable one for the BBC One soap opera, as Christmas is expected to be the greatest event in the Walford calendar.

While Sharon Watts finalises her wedding and viewers continue to speculate about who will die on Christmas Day, Suki Panesar begins to accuse her husband Nish of murder and turns to retaliation.

While all is going on, Mackenzie Boyd is taken prisoner in Emmerdale, and Carla is left speechless by Peter Barlow’s bombshell confession on Coronation Street.

Hollyoaks is celebrating Christmas early this week instead of next week. The Channel 4 soap opera has some incredibly stunning developments in store for the Lucas Hay story, not to mention the disastrous wedding plans of Sienna Blake.

You won’t want to overlook this.

In Neighbours, Jane Harris and Terese Willis team up to do magic together, and Melanie Pearson and Toadie Rebecchi are reunited.

EastEnders

Jack feels terrible when he wakes up from his night with Stacey. While Kim informs Denise that she must file for divorce from Jack because their love is finished, Denise remains resolute in her fight to save her marriage. Jack and Amy are both terrified by what is happening and decide to leave as Amy runs away. Jack refuses to let Denise go because he wants to safeguard Amy’s mental health.

Suki is certain that a bouquet of flowers given to Stacey is not from Eve. She believes her abusive husband must be aware of the affair and tells Stacey so after doing some research on Nish’s laptop. Suki, driven by a desire for vengeance, implements a plan while Stacey cautions her to use caution. But later on, Jack informs Stacey that Nish and Ravi have been detained in connection with Eve’s murder!

After Sharon and Linda pick up the former’s ideal wedding gown, they return to the Square to find that Tommy has left the item in the road! Sharon thinks this must be a sign that she should call off her wedding, but Linda encourages her and Kathy gives her the dress. Yes, that particular garment.

The hospital calls Dean to let him know that Jade has had a transplant, and Gina congratulates him. Later on, though, the transplant is cancelled, and Dean drowns his emotions. After discussing forgiveness with Rocky, the perpetrator is left with some food for thought.

After offering some words of support, Honey plays a taped message from Lola to Jay, who is taken aback by what he hears.

Kim starts to lose her voice during the Walford carol concert, but Howie steps up when Patrick gives her some support. As they attempt to stifle their inner suffering, Sharon, Kathy, Linda, Stacey, Suki, and Denise all look on.

Coronation Street

Despite Jenny and Carla’s best efforts, Audrey refuses to give up Stephen’s journal. Daisy is ready to lend Jenny moral support, telling her not to quit up because she should get a share of the money that went missing and that she could even be able to repurchase the Rovers. Eager to help, Daisy devises a scheme, robbing David of his keys and entering No. 8 to conduct a mad dash for the journal. Will someone find her?

Carla offers to accompany Peter when he says he has a support group meeting later. Peter acknowledges at the support group that he has lost all interest in life and that getting by has become a daily struggle. When Carla realises how hopeless he really is, she becomes extremely worried.

Beneath his rumpled clothes, Ed slips up and tells Aggie he’s going to spend Christmas with her in Birmingham. However, as he approaches the front door, Tony confronts him and threatens to force his way inside. Tony threatens to tell Aggie everything when she calls on Ed’s phone. Tony hits Ed, knocking him to the ground as he reaches for the phone.

Since tensions are still high at the Platts, Lily proposes that they implement a “nice box” similar to the one at school, where children are required to write positive things about one another and put them inside. Audrey was prepared to read the remark. What might go wrong, if anything?

While Evelyn spends Christmas with Roy, she offers to Tyrone that he take the girls to Norfolk to meet Fiz. Evelyn grudgingly extends an invitation to Cassie to join them after realising that she is now on her own.

A sentimental Ryan is waved off by Carla and Debbie and heads for Glasgow. Daisy laments as his cab fades from sight, but is Ryan truly gone from our lives?

Emmerdale

Following a disagreement with Charity, Mackenzie storms out and says he won’t be back for a time. Later on, though, he is discovered in an abandoned factory, chained to a chair and appearing nonresponsive. However, who is at fault and why was he abducted in the first place? Moreover, will he be located in time?

Charles is getting frustrated with Aaron’s actions and tells him to treat his mother with some decency. While Aaron makes it his mission to embarrass an infatuated Ethan, Chas is happy to have found a friend in Charles. Chas ends up giving Aaron a blindside when she gives him some harsh words for her son.

Dawn goes into labour and gives birth to a boy at the Christmas fair, where her contractions start.

Feeling completely deceived that Kim withheld information from him, Will is appalled to learn that Kim was involved in Craig’s death. Will is left with a choice after Kim tells him to maintain his silence.

When Mary brings Gus and the infant Ivy home, Rhona is taken aback. Mary has been supporting Gus while he’s been struggling, but soon there’s a lot of trouble since Marlon can’t stand his new house visitors.

Hollyoaks

On Christmas morning, Leah notices that Lucas has a bump on his head. She tells Ste that her brother has been fighting once more. Lucas quickly leaves the house since he doesn’t want to be around his family. Dillon finds him by himself on the bridge and offers to help.

After admitting that he had taken Ranye’s phone before she passed away, Hunter gets Zoe to promise to keep quiet and have a tech friend take a look at the phone. But the phone disappears and ends up in Peri’s hands instead. It is unclear exactly what Peri accomplishes, although in later scenes, she and Romeo discuss leaving quickly.

Although Dilly wants to be the deputy maid of honour and tells Maxine that Rafe is dying, Sienna is out of earshot and she expresses her worry that the stress of the wedding would further cut into his time. Sienna wants to mend the rift between her and Maxine. When Dilly shows Sienna the lime green bridesmaid dresses she bought, it all becomes too much for her. However, when Rafe acknowledges that he requested his sister for assistance, Sienna decides to attempt to heal her feelings.

Neighbours

Nell’s fifteenth birthday presents challenges as plans for a celebration are derailed by a power outage on Ramsay Street. Soon after, a different location is recommended, but this causes Toadie, Melanie, and Terese to unexpectedly come into touch.

Krista checks herself out of rehab and makes a surprising return to the Street with her new look. When she announces that she’s taking over as the Sinclair agent at Lassiters, Paul becomes enraged. However, when she faints, David questions whether she may have checked herself out of rehab too soon.

Holly lets her jealousy get the best of her and ruins Mackenzie’s beautiful gift, with Trevor taking the fall for it. Byron prods her to tell the truth, but before she can, Haz watches the video and determines that Holly is the one causing the problem. Holly admits that she is aware that Mack revealed her emotions for Haz, leaving Haz unsure of what to do. Holly is distraught, believing that Mack is turning into her mother, Izzy.

Despite both women’s nervousness in the days before, Jane and Terese’s pitch to the Erinsborough council proceeds as scheduled. Following their unanimous decision following their powerful presentation, Jane and Terese head back home to rejoice with their families.
