Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins reveals Victoria’s heartbreak over Jacob

Jacob will begin to grow more distant…

Victoria Sugden is due for sorrow, according to Emmerdale actress Isobel Hodgins.

Although Jacob Gallagher and Victoria have been getting closer lately, there will be scenes next week that show Jacob become more aloof for no apparent reason.

Hodgins, who made her television debut in 2006 as Victoria, discussed the impending scenes with Inside Soap. She said that her character would be perplexed by Jacob’s seeming change of heart.

Hodgins said, “She’s not happy!” She doesn’t understand why Jacob made this U-turn when he was the one who battled to keep them together. She’s bewildered and wounded.”

Regarding Victoria and Jacob’s future together, the celebrity said: “I believe they have a future together, but I’m not exactly sure how! Although Leyla despises Victoria and their relationship with David is difficult, they are in love and have a lengthy relationship when they are alone.

“I think they’re very sweet,” she continued. They are both lovely, kind individuals. It works because, in my opinion, they have the same ideals and beliefs. I’d advise Victoria to listen to her intuition. She wants to scream from the rooftops that she deserves to be happy, but she is unable to do so for apparent reasons.”

Speaking about the plot, Joe-Warren Plant, who has been playing Jacob since 2010, said that his character is concerned that other villagers may find out about their covert affair.

Because everyone in the hamlet speak and gossip, Jacob is extremely afraid that anybody would find out—not only Leyla and David, but everyone else as well. “Jacob is intelligent and adept at preventing people from learning,” he said.

At the same time, however, sometimes his enthusiasm for the problem causes him to act without fully considering the consequences or to jump the gun a little. There are moments when [he] could leave a little trace or put himself in awkward circumstances where others might find out.”

Weeknights at 7.30 p.m., ITV1 and ITVX stream Emmerdale.
