In Monday’s (January 1) episode of Coronation Street, Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) made a return visit to get vengeance on Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).

After having an affair with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), the criminal fled Weatherfield earlier this year, but he returned today with the goal of seriously endangering Adam’s life.

Not long after Damon gave the order for several men to abduct Adam, Sarah realized he was returned.

Damon questioned Sarah about her connection with Adam ending at the apartment. His curiosity was piqued when Sarah disclosed that she had miscarried his child.

Following the romance, Sarah found out she was pregnant a few months ago. Sarah let Adam think he was the baby’s father rather than Damon in a plot that saw her weave a thick web of deceit.

Adam said he wanted a divorce with Sarah once they discovered the truth and realized he could no longer trust her.

When Damon found out about the loss, he was obviously devastated and attempted to tell Sarah how much he loved her.

Previously, Sarah had an affair with Damon and deceived Adam (Picture: ITV).

Unfortunately, Sarah’s statement that she wasn’t interested put him in his place.

Damon almost killed Adam, who was suffering a panic attack while being kept captive at a wasteground, as a result of his intense feelings.

Adam didn’t realize Damon was in front of him with the pistol, however, and wanted a message to be delivered to Sarah and little Harry. Adam had a sack over his head.

Affected by Sarah’s revelation, Damon became even more distressed when Adam brought up little Harry and his mother.

An irritated Damon told his sidekick to let him go, feeling terrible and unable to finish off his opponent.

Once Adam returned to the cobbles from the station to report the kidnapping, he saw Damon and realized right away that he was the one behind it.

Adam was warned by Daniel (Rob Mallard) that Damon is a dangerous guy, but the attorney wasn’t alarmed.

“I’ve already eliminated him, I can do it once more,” he said.

When this plot progresses, Damon will have to overcome his murdering brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), which will provide another obstacle.

Will Mellor teased the brothers’ connection by saying, “There’s an interesting dynamic between them.”

Harvey is happy to have had that talk since his mother informed him that Damon had physically assaulted him. Harvey took this personally and threatened to hold out for Damon till he had his hands on him.

Although Damon denies it, Harvey is letting him know that nothing is ever forgotten and that he is not forgotten despite what has happened. Family members aren’t safe either; if you wrong Harvey, he won’t forget it and will exact revenge.

He’ll injure him in some way; it could not even be his fault. It might be his friends or relatives. The tension that exists between them is what makes it so fascinating. Even though Harvey is inside, he is still able to control things from his current location.
