The relationship between Emmerdale’s Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) and Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) has finally come to light, and it’s safe to say that Jacob’s closest friends and family weren’t happy to hear the news.

The timing was ideal for Jacob and Victoria to confess their emotions for one another, since Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), who was becoming agitated because she believed Jacob was in love with her, had just returned from her Christmas vacation in Portugal. The major reason Gabby handled the news well was because she was relieved that she wasn’t the focus of Jacob’s love after all.

It would be more difficult for the pair to tell Pollard (Chris Chittell) and Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi). Leyla has never concealed her distaste for Victoria, particularly after she nearly killed Jacob. Meanwhile, Eric was already dealing with his Parkinson’s diagnosis, helping Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) in the wake of Heath’s (Sebastian Dowling) passing, and adjusting to his son David’s (Matthew Wolfenden) relocation to London.

Leyla received the news as she was expected to. She summed, saying, “My son is seeing his dad’s ex-girlfriend, who his dad is still in love with.” ‘Apart from the enormous age difference.’

Pollard quickly discovered that David had been to London in the first place because he was aware of the affair.

He was really taken aback by it and confided in Brenda about his feelings. With the recent loss of her step-son Heath, Brenda was speaking from experience when she gave him some sage advise, advising him that life is too short to have disagreements with the ones you love.

“Love is ultimately all that exists,” the woman uttered. “Just love,”

After seeing Jacob, Eric suggested that his grandson get in touch with David and attempt to make things right.

David took Jacob’s call, but he refused to talk to him, preferring to speak with Eric. Eric told his grandson what David had said. He hung up after declaring his hatred for Victoria and Jacob for what they had done. Hurt.

Eric expressed to Jacob his hope that the inconvenience created had been worthwhile.

Leyla made it very apparent to Jacob later that she won’t tolerate their connection, so it appears that it will be a very long time before Jacob, Victoria, and the rest of the family are having family meals at the Hide or drinking in the Woolpack.

Will Victoria and Jacob be able to persuade others to give them a chance? Or will every obstacle separate them?
