Emmerdale to air change in Kim Tate and Lydia Dingle storyline

Kim’s peace-making efforts start to pay off.

Monday’s (January 8) episode of Emmerdale marks a turning point in the relationship between Lydia Dingle and Kim Tate in the wake of their previous argument.

In light of Craig Reed’s untimely passing, Kim is resolved to make things right with Lydia.

Kim admitted to Lydia at the end of last year that she had abandoned Craig to perish after her horse, Ice, had gravely hurt him.

Kim and Cain Dingle, who had both escaped punishment for raping Lydia, concurred that Craig was not a good person for the world.

Lydia had informed her loved ones that she intended to move on from her trauma with Craig and didn’t want them to take things into their own hands, so as she learned the truth, she found it difficult to forgive Kim.

After spending Christmas with her mother, Lydia has returned to the hamlet, and Kim is eager to rekindle their connection.

Kim discusses the challenging circumstance with her spouse Will in the hopes of getting some ideas on how to handle it.

In the episode that airs on Monday, Kim shows up to the Dingles’ house to talk despite Lydia’s advice to stay away.

Initially, Lydia is displeased with Kim for disobeying her requests once again. But Kim’s unwavering determination to keep their relationship intact eventually begins to pay off as Lydia is grudgingly impressed by her efforts.

Will a nascent warming between Lydia and Kim lead to an agreement on a new beginning?

Laura Shaw, the producer of Emmerdale, once stated: “We’ll see in the new year if [Lydia and Kim] can get their friendship back on track.”
