In EastEnders, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) has only just returned to her kids’ life, but she’s already interfering with their relationships.
When Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) first met Cindy, it was in a French hospital after Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) heart attack.
There was little prospect of them getting back together because of her indignation at Cindy’s choice to put herself above her family and into witness protection, as well as her rage at Peter Beale (Thomas Law) for withholding the truth from her.
Lauren has learned that Peter has been withholding even more significant information from her since her return to Walford. These secrets include the truth that her incarceration was caused by her cousin Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) and that she had another sister on the Square.
Lauren was furious, but Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) talked her into staying, and she soon seemed to warm up to Peter again.
Peter assists Lauren and Penny in moving into their new apartment in later scenes, and shortly after, the parents are thinking about getting back together.
But Peter doesn’t know that Cindy listened and has her own thoughts about a possible connection with Lauren when he goes to dad Ian for help.
Unable to trust Lauren, Cindy follows her and begs her to reconsider dating Peter in the hopes of shielding her kid from future heartache.
Will Lauren heed Cindy’s counsel, or will Lauren and Peter start over?
