Emmerdale spoilers: Chas Dingle breaks down in tears as breast cancer diagnosis is confirmed

Chas gets the terrible news (Picture: ITV)

After Liam (Jonny McPherson) informed Chas (Lucy Pargeter) that he had felt a lump in her breast during their canoodle, Chas’s (Lucy Pargeter) world has been in disarray, but it is about to collapse.

When he informed her about the lump, she immediately became fearful and shut down, even though he tried to convince her that it may not be anything. She knew deep down that it was not nothing to worry about since breast cancer ran in her family; she had lost her mother Faith to the illness.

Since the discovery, Chas has kept to herself, so she’s afraid when she gets the call to confirm her hospital visit. Since she has no one else to inform, she begs Liam to come with her. He enjoys being her only confidante in private.

Her life quickly collapses after arriving at the hospital when the doctor confirms that she does, in fact, have triple negative cancer. It seems as if her life has ended suddenly.

She vents to Liam after the appointment and attempts to talk herself out of her anxiety. Even when she puts on her best Chas brave face, she can’t conceal this one.

When it becomes too much, she asks Liam to go and, when she is alone herself, she gives in to her tears.

Chas finds a friend in Lydia (Picture: ITV)

Chas underestimates how well her loved ones know her, yet she can’t bring herself to tell anybody. After dropping off Eve, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) reads Chas like a book.

She keeps up her front in typical Chas fashion. Later, when Lydia (Karen Blick) starts to suspect something is wrong, Chas loses it.

After disclosing her diagnosis to Lydia, Chas feels relieved. However, Liam, who had relished being Chas’s lone confidante, has unpleasant news.

Chas foolishly starts looking up more information online out of fear for her future. Does Chas have a temporary reprieve?
