Coronation Street spoilers: Evelyn Plummer delights Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape with a very kind gesture as Roy worries

In recent scenes on Coronation Street, there has been tension between Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) and her daughter Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney). However, Evelyn managed to set that aside in order to show kindness to Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine).

After wife Fiz called from Norwich to tell him that her employer had given her a free vacation to Italy, Tyrone was feeling quite depressed.

Tyrone was sadly unable to accompany her owing to childcare obligations, which Evelyn felt was unjust, and she quickly devised a plan to make things right.

In the meanwhile, following her breakup with Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was left comforting niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher). Seeing as how destitute she was now, he was eager to offer her back her former place.

But doing so would require telling Evelyn that she would have to move out, something Roy was not exactly looking forward to.

Thankfully, Evelyn delivered a bombshell of her own: she was moving back into Tyrone’s house before Roy had a chance to deliver the bad news.

With their issue resolved, Roy and Nina were relieved, and it would soon become evident why Evelyn had made her choice.

When Evelyn returned home, she met an apologetic Cassie, who was still eager to prove to Evelyn that she was wrong to have allowed her own guilt cloud her judgment for attacking Terry the week before.

The relationship between Terry and Evelyn remained icy despite Evelyn’s previous admission that she didn’t think Cassie had broken into his home on purpose to take his money, but it soon became apparent that Evelyn was prepared to soften a little.

She mumbled something about maybe being too tough with Cassie before, then told Cassie that Terry had been charged with animal cruelty and breeding dogs without a permit.

Cassie laughed and inquired if it was her interpretation of an apology, but Evelyn cautioned her from taking it too far.

Cassie was relieved that they were getting along again when she then revealed that she would be returning to assist with the kids’ care.

Tyrone later told his mother that he was confused since he had spoken to Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) over the phone and received confirmation that he could take time off work as Evelyn had asked.

Evelyn quickly informed him that he would be traveling with Fiz to Italy and advised him to start packing. She also said that she and Cassie would be able to set their disagreements aside in order to keep things organized while he was gone.
