For some months now, Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) has been the focus of bullies, headed by Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), on Coronation Street. However, the little boy is about to strike back.
Liam has been the victim of several brutal acts of torture by Mason and his friends, including trash tossing, name-calling, and even theft of his belongings.
In later sequences, once his phone is stolen, Liam will have had enough.
Mason only laughs at Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) when he asks him whether he intends to return his phone.
He quickly says that he is a dead man if Liam shows up to the meeting to get it, which Liam overhears.
But instead of backing down from his tormentor, he looks him down and makes a promise to stay there.
Dylan forewarns Liam not to see Mason out of fear for the worse, but the young man is adamant on defying him.
Later on, when Liam goes to see Mason and his buddies, he hears Dylan calling him a loser. Mason encourages him further, so shortly after, Liam pushes Dylan up against the wall.
Mrs. Crawshaw shows up at that point, and Dylan quickly falls to the ground.
After the event, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) goes with Liam to the police station and tells Gary Windass (Mikey North) to back off—he’s already done enough harm.
Maria informs Liam that as long as he speaks the truth, everything will work out as they wait.
Once they’re out on the street, Anthony Cotton’s character Sean Tully lashes out at Gary, saying he’s delighted he called the police because bullies should be punished.
The next day, Maria tells Gary that she thinks Liam could be stepping in for someone else.
