Coronation Street spoilers: Agony as Paul makes a desperately tragic plea

The end is getting closer (Picture: ITV)

Soon after his mother Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) is arrested for stealing, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) has to consider the possibility that this will be the last time he sees her on Coronation Street.

Paul, Bernie, and Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) are going to the hospital this week for another appointment with the MND nurse.

There, the nurse will inform you that Paul now only has six to twelve months to live due to the way his health is deteriorating.

Following the revelation of this information, Bernie will be forced to inform Paul and Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) that she is facing charges of handling stolen goods following a disastrous job gone wrong with Big Garth.

Bernie enters a guilty plea on Joel’s (Calum Lill) advice. Her family is taken aback when the judge says that, considering her criminal history, they are forced to give her a jail sentence.

The Judge is then informed by a distraught Paul about his MND and how much he depends on his mother, but will this be sufficient to warrant a reconsideration?

Or will Paul have to bid Bernie farewell sooner than he thought?

Bernie is aware that she has made a grave error and fears that she may be leaving for prison just when Paul and Gemma need her the most—possibly missing Paul’s last Christmas.

“Assisting her children is her top priority right now,” Jane Hazelgrove urged.

She isn’t having that because she is aware of the potential consequences. Her time to ride lady luck has run out because she has done so for too long.
