Coronation Street spoiler video: Oblivious Steve welcomes dashing Tommy Orpington into mischievous wife Tracy’s home

When football player Tommy Orpington moves into Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) house, he’s left wondering whether he’s living one of his many fantasies on Coronation Street.

The well-known face stopped into Weatherfield over the holidays to visit Tracy’s (Kate Ford) flower store. They struck up a conversation, and before long, Tracy would bring the players back together by asking Tommy to demonstrate his extraordinary painting abilities.

Tracy decides that she would like to redecorate her bedroom after receiving a horrible birthday gift from Steve. However, Tracy gets an idea to employ an expert when her buddy advises her to do so after she informs Mary (Patti Clare) that Steve is acting a little too lazily.

This latest video captures Tracy brewing Tommy a cup of tea before Tommy starts his new assignment.

Before you ask, the décor.

As they start talking, it’s obvious that Tracy and Tommy get along well. However, Steve walks in and completely alters the atmosphere of the space. He is completely taken aback to find Tommy Orpington, the iconic figure, in his own house.

Steve is informed of Tommy’s new role by Tracy, who is eager for the decorating to start.

What will happen, however, when Tracy has some alone time with Tommy O while Steve is away in France for a few days?

This event precedes Tommy’s upcoming new plot, which, based on the latest video, seems to centre on Tracy and a possibly distraught Steve McDonald.

Tommy was forced to go back to his previous profession as a painter and decorator, which he had while playing non-league football. Interestingly, he is now unmarried. Not to use a euphemism, but one of our female characters could need some decorating done, showrunner Iain MacLeod informed us.

“Basically, there’s a story that develops where this charming, historically successful man walks into the life of one of our female characters and, shall we say, upsets the apple cart in a pretty spectacular fashion.”

It’s hilarious, but there may be some sad moments as well. Tommy Orpington will finally come off the substitute bench because it sets off something extremely significant for us over the course of the next 12 months, including a major change in direction for certain characters.
