The revelation was revealed on social media by the actress, who formerly portrayed Holly Barton in the ITV serial opera Emmerdale.

The actress Sophie Powles, who plays Holly Barton in Emmerdale, has revealed the news of the birth of her second child. She announced the good news along with a photo of her two kids on Instagram.

Together with her boyfriend Mark Waters, Sophie, who has previously acted in Holby City and The Long Shadow, is already parents to a kid called Marli. She made her pregnancy public in July, and she has now announced the birth of her infant daughter—though she isn’t yet giving the name away.

Sophie stated on Instagram, “Our little girl arrived before Christmas making it the most magical one yet.” August 2021 saw the birth of Marli Ocean Waters, her first child.

After permanently leaving Emmerdale in 2016, Sophie previously acknowledged that she felt like a “failure” for having to take a job in a café while looking for acting employment. However, when she was working at the cafe, customers would identify her from Emmerdale.

“I need a job, I need to pay my rent,” she stated in response to questions from others who recognised her while she was in the café.

“The acting business is very unpredictable; you could have the best job one minute and it end, and you never know when you’ll find another one. You just have to accept that and be prepared to work hard and dirty.”
