As soon as Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in EastEnder notices Kat (Jessie Wallace) taking pleasure in Nish Panesar’s (Navin Chowdhry) company, he becomes filled with sorrow and resentment.

Sam (Kim Medcalf) learned that Phil had cheated on Kat by having an affair with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) soon after Aunt Sal’s funeral. In typical Sam fashion, she told her brother’s secret, which drove Kat to abruptly depart the Mitchell residence and left Phil worried he had lost everything.

Up next, Suki (Balvinder Sopal) is dubious when Nish offers Kat an apartment to rent that is initially free of rent.

While they are at the bar, Kat comes and turns down Phil’s offer to pay for her drink, telling George (Colin Salmon) that he’s giving her some time to calm down before attempting to win her back.

Nish intervenes and begs Phil to leave Kat alone in an attempt to rile him even more.

Returning to Number 41, Nish phones Kat and asks her out after Priya (Sophie Khan-Levy) tells him to go on with his life because Suki isn’t coming back.

But Kat declines, saying it’s too soon.

Later in the week, Stacey (Lacey Turner) reveals the truth about Eve (Heather Peace) and becomes desperate to stop Kat from dating Nish after learning about her new romantic interest.

After demanding an explanation from Nish, Kat walks over to confront him and eventually agrees to a date.

Phil enters Walford East as Kat and Nish are having fun.

Growing more and more envious, Kat is stung by Phil’s nasty comments and leaves quickly, followed by Nish.

Can Suki and Stacey stop Kat from dating Nish before things get out of control? Kat is unintentionally playing a risky game.
