Emmerdale spoilers: Bob Hope goes ballistic as Jimmy’s lie over Heath’s death is revealed

The death of Bob Hope’s (Tony Audenshaw) son Heath (Sebastian Dowling) in an Emmerdale car tragedy at the beginning of the year completely upended Bob Hope’s life.

Initially, Bob thought that Heath’s death was partly the result of Cathy Hope’s (Gabrielle Dowling) driving at the time of the collision.

After keeping it a secret for many weeks, Rebecca Bakes’ character Angelica King revealed that it was she, not Cathy, who was driving.

Next, after quitting her position at the council, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) comes home and experiences the full weight of all that is happening.

To exacerbate the situation, Ethan Anderson (Emile John) stops by the King residence and informs Nicola that there is a high likelihood that Angelica would get a jail term.

Later in the week, Bob is left shivering with wrath when Jimmy King (Nick Miles) confesses that he ordered Angelica to lie about her role in the incident. As a result, their relationship remains severely damaged.

Nicola begs Jimmy not to inform Angelica about her possible jail sentence as the hearing gets closer. Jimmy and Nicola debate whether to force Angelica to lie and claim she is innocent, but ultimately decide that they can support their daughter by encouraging her to tell the truth instead of lying.

They run meet Bob and Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) on their way to the court, and they are thrilled to learn that Cathy’s charges have been dismissed.

However, what will be the result of Angelica’s legal case?

Nicola Wheeler described the impending scenes as having an effect on Jimmy and Nicola’s relationships with Bob, saying, “It’s basically fighting back.”

Both a horrible and a sad circumstance exist. Although, in theory, one of them is at fault, in reality, it’s none of them. It’s simply one of those things that occurs and you have to deal with the repercussions, so none of them is to blame nor are they to blame at all.

They would really want to have Bob support them, since he would undoubtedly be a great character reference for Angel. Sadly, Bob despises them so much that it’s quite doubtful that he will give one.
