In recent EastEnders scenes, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) departed Albert Square with her lover Zack Hudson (James Farrar) in tow, intending to see her stepmother Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) in Milton Keynes.

Together with her husband Terry Spraggan, Bianca relocated to Milton Keynes in 2014, and the two have been residents ever then.

But things recently took a bad turn in their relationship when Whitney found out that Terry had abruptly broken up with Bianca, leaving her devastated.

Whitney made the decision to go see Bianca as a way to express her support, even though Zack wasn’t sure it would be a good idea.

Reminding him that their 20-week scan had shown nothing was amiss with their unborn child, Whitney said that she needed a diversion after losing her daughter Peach to death the previous year.

But Zack was determined to keep her company and bemoaned the fact that, even if he managed to take time off work, Whitney’s cubicle would be left unattended while they were gone.

Luckily, Zack was able to listen in on Lauren and Penny Branning (Jacqueline Jossa and Kitty Castledine), who had just returned to Albert Square, while they spoke about their work situation.

After looking around in Walford for a job and failing to find one, Lauren was feeling sorry for herself; nevertheless, Penny didn’t want it to spoil her good mood in front of her birthday the next day.

Zack surprised them with an offer they couldn’t refuse, despite Penny’s jest that they could go back to selling drugs.

Zack and Whitney went to meet Bianca after Penny received explicit instructions on how to manage Whitney’s stall while they were gone. Whitney told Zack how much she appreciated him for his work.

Will everything function properly without them?
