Some individuals find that working helps them forget about their family issues, but Chris Bisson’s character Jai Sharma in Emmerdale doesn’t feel the same way.

At the moment, he would want to avoid having to deal with Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam), the guy he now knows is really his biological father but who he had believed to be his uncle. This is due to his strong suspicion that Amit murdered Rishi (Bhasker Patel), the man Jai mistakenly believed to be his father but who is really his uncle.

Although Amit acknowledged being there when Rishi died after falling down the steps, he claimed the event was an accident. He didn’t think anybody would think it was an accident, so he just legged it after the fact.

Jai finds it hard to trust this tale. He detests the notion that, upon Amit’s passing, he abandoned Rishi at the foot of the steps. Either way, he despises him.

Therefore, it’s not ideal that Amit appears to feel the need to stop by everytime he works at the Hide for a drink or a burger, to hang out with his son Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), who Jai mistakenly believed to be his cousin but is really his brother, or simply to loiter.

Naturally, when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) informs Jai that Amit has invested in the company, it’s the final straw for him. This gives Amit complete excuse to bother Jai whenever he pleases.

To be honest, Jai has had enough and immediately steps down. Given that she works at the Hide as well, Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) is forced to question where this leaves her. And now that Jai isn’t earning any money, how will it affect the family’s finances?

It seems sense that this causes conflict in the Sharma marriage. For the sake of a more peaceful future, Laurel would prefer that Amit and Jai would put an end to their ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, Jai is upset that Laurel doesn’t appear to be as interested in helping him as she might be.

Could Jai’s marriage to his wife be ruined as a result of his resentment against Amit?
