With Tracy Metcalfe and Tracy Barlow both starting intense relationships with people that have special meaning for their respective spouses, things have definitely been getting hotter on both ITV soap operas lately.

Next week, the two plotlines will take center stage. As shown in the teaser video I’ve included below, Corrie’s narrative will continue to play with fire, while Tracy from Emmerdale will make a significant choice.

Meanwhile, Rhona Goskirk gets heartbreaking news regarding Ivy’s baby, which prompts her to make a significant choice.

What exactly is she intending, though?

Monday February 5

Coronation Street

After his vacation to France, Steve returns to the street much sooner than he had planned, and he plans to surprise his wife Tracy with a sweet gesture.

But when he discovers Tracy alone in the flower store with Tommy Orpington, little does he realize that it’s going to be him who gets the surprise.

The finding excites the legend, but will he figure out that Tracy has been having extramarital affairs with his football idol? Alternatively, will Tracy able to hide her traces before Steve figures things out?

Emmerdale

When Gus sends a message asking Rhona to come to the Woolpack for a chinwag, she becomes a little miffed. Gus quickly tries to soothe her, saying he feels like he’s ready and willing to have Ivy stay with him overnight.

Rhona has been taking care of Ivy for the last several months, and although Marlon tells her not to react too quickly to the news, it’s obvious that she is having second thoughts. But how far will Rhona go to keep the baby in her life when Gus is determined to have her back full-time?

Wednesday 7

Emmerdale

Mill Cottage: Ruby and Nicky sipping coffee. But when Caleb discovers that they’re all out of coffee—thanks to Ruby, who enjoys a steaming cup in the morning—he’s not too pleased.

After splitting with Tracy, Nate spends the night at Caleb’s and then shows up in the kitchen area. He doesn’t know that his wife is surreptitiously holding a candle for his uncle.

Ruby tries to comfort Nate that he may remain for as long as he has to, but she is certain that there is something wrong because of Caleb’s indifferent attitude toward his nephew’s predicament and the environment between Caleb and Nicky.

Friday February 9

Adam shows up to Weatherfield General in search of a man named John Perry.

The lawyer is perplexed when the receptionist tells him that no one with that name works there; nevertheless, a patient seated close overhears and confirms that he is, in fact, John Perry.

Adam is first perplexed, but as soon as he learns that John has cancer, his uncertainty quickly turns into terror.

Harvey, the prisoner who Adam is trying to liberate in order to get Damon off the streets, had directed him to John, who intends to accept responsibility for Natasha Blakeman’s death in order to free Harvey. But will Adam follow instructions? Or will he think twice after what he learns in the hospital?
