Emotional exits for three major Emmerdale characters as they quit the village

The Dingle family suddenly feels smaller! (Picture: ITV)

This will mean she will take more time away from the soap.

In the Emmerdale episode that aired on Friday, February 2, Sam Dingle (James Hooton), Chas (Lucy Pargeter), and her daughter Eve (Bella James) all departed the village.

Chas has had a very difficult week since she began with notifying her Dingle family that she had breast cancer.

She then focused on her baby daughter Eve on Wednesday. Chas told Eve that she had cancer, much like her grandmother Faith (Sally Dexter), but that she would be receiving medication to help her recover with the assistance of Paddy (Dominic Brunt).

Chas then met with Paddy and Mandy (Lisa Riley), keeping Eve’s therapy front of mind, and requested if she might take Eve on a few-week vacation.

This week, Chas informed Eve about her illness (Picture: ITV)

Chas nervously went over to Aaron (Danny Miller) and asked if he’d want to go along after Paddy and Mandy gave their OK.

Aaron informed his mother that he would be in the village when she returned, but he felt it would be better to let Chas create memories with little Eve.

Tonight, Sam was preparing to go to Scotland to meet his father Zak (Steve Halliwell), while Chas was packing her bags at the Dingle residence.

After a moment yesterday in which Lydia attempted to tell her husband she’s ready for intimacy again, only for a terrified Sam to make the mistake of saying he doesn’t want to have sex, things were a bit uncomfortable between Sam and Lydia (Karen Blick).

Mandy said farewell to Chas and took out an envelope containing cash from her pocket as Lydia assisted Eve in getting into the vehicle outside the bar. She revealed to Chas that Paddy, who wants her to have the finest time, gave her the money.

Then, prepared to drop Chas and Eve off at the train station before making his way to Aberdeen, Sam climbed into the driver’s seat.

Sam’s leaving has allowed Lydia some time to reflect about their relationship. Will they sit down and have an open discussion about intimacy and their current marriage when he gets back?
