The recent revelations regarding Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam) on Emmerdale startled us, but they did not surprise us.

In a conversation with his attorney Bill (Philip Buck), the businessman disclosed that it is highly probable that Amit intentionally pushed his brother Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) down the stairs at home in order to retain complete ownership of their Uncle Ravi’s inheritance.

There has always been something unsettling and suspicious about Amit, and that encounter with Bill finally confirmed it, despite Amit’s constant claims that Rishi’s fall was an accident and that all he did was leave the scene to avoid being accused of pushing him.

But as far as the other villagers are concerned, everyone believes he’s great, including Jai (Chris Bisson), who has recently learned to tolerate him.

Amit’s evil side will eventually surface again, and this time, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell), a well-liked town elder, will be his target. Expect a nasty twist.

Amit devises a scheme and challenges Pollard to a game of pool after learning that the other man is reasonably well-off.

They up the ante by placing bets on their upcoming game, and Pollard is enjoying the challenge and having a blast. Amit purposely gives him the advantage in order to win his trust.

After gaining Pollard’s attention, Amit seduces his new friend with an alluring business offer.

Patrick Mower’s character Rodney expresses worry and cautions Pollard not to put too much faith in Amit, but Pollard is an obstinate individual who believes he is an expert in his field. Pollard is also happy to be back in a position where he can use his business acumen after battling his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

He assures Amit that he is totally dedicated to their business partnership and that it appears Amit is prepared to fully exploit Pollard’s precarious position.

However, Amit is taken aback the next day when Pollard informs him that he must speak with Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) before moving his money to the new business. Trying not to appear overly desperate, he launches an attempt to get Eric to shift the money.

Is Pollard going to lose everything because he put his trust in the malevolent Amit?
