In future scenes on EastEnders, Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) discovers something dark that causes Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) to become extremely hostile.

She is taken aback when Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green) unexpectedly returns from the hospital to Albert Square, but she soon finds herself taking care of the sick girl when Dean consents to an interview with a Walford Gazette reporter.

But soon after, Charlie Suff’s character Johnny Carter interrupts the interview, offering to give a character reference on Dean that is probably not going to be very positive considering their past.

As everything is going on, Jean investigates Jade and chooses to investigate further after finding out that Dean has been giving her medicine.

The audience will be aware that Jade had a chest ailment for which she was prescribed antibiotics and that, once well enough, she had intended to relocate to Pakistan with her mother.

But Dean didn’t want Jade to go, so he made the decision to handle things himself in order to keep her near.

Without Jade noticing, he started to tamper with her medication, emptying the pill cases.

So far, his meddling has gone undiscovered because, when Jean phoned a doctor, he convinced Jade to lie to him in order to prevent her from going to the hospital.

But in later scenes, Jean discovers that Jade’s pill cases are empty, which gives her the motivation to act.

Dean sees Jean trying to take Jade back to the Slaters’ house when he gets home, but he quickly gets smart and accuses her of being responsible for everything.

Will Jean be able to reveal Dean’s wrongdoings?
