Fans of Emmerdale have been quick to comment on a distraction that occurred during a recent scene of the program, calling it a “massive” distraction. Tuesday night (March 19) saw the continuation of Tom King’s covert mistreatment of his new bride Belle.

Emmerdale, as viewers of the ITV soap opera are aware, will delve into the nature of coercive control in a domestic abuse storyline that centers on a recently married couple. Tom suddenly returned to the hamlet last year, bringing Belle and him back together, but since his shocking outburst in October, people have been deeply concerned about their relationship.

In the most recent episode, Tom informed Belle that there was an animal emergency at the veterinarian clinic, so Belle had to take over at the reception. But she was barely able to keep the surgery running while Tom was away before several clients arrived with their pets in the waiting area.

However, Emmerdale viewers couldn’t resist making comments about some of the animals entering the operation on social media. “Did they order the biggest animals they could find?” asked @BuckBuck220. #emmerdale. Comment from @SG902110: “Why are they so big? “Observe that devilish rabbit #Emmerdale.”

@Samanth22356123 laughed: “The animal cast booker: ‘Yes can we have the largest dog and largest rabbit in the world please’ #Emmerdale.” According to @Mel_Navan, “the dog is like a donkey and the rabbit is like a dog #Emmerdale.” “How big was that rabbit in the vets Omg #emmerdale,” tweeted @MattZeeMiller. “You could put a saddle on that dog lol #Emmerdale,” @Boppity_Boo34 continued.

Fans of Emmerdale witnessed Tom’s most recent attempts to dominate Belle in the interim. Suzy Merton was shocked to see Belle behind the desk when she went to the veterinarian in search of Vanessa Woodfield. She appeared to make the connection, assuming Belle had already received a better offer and didn’t want the job at Take A Vow.

When Suzy questioned if Tom had informed Belle about the employment opportunity, a bewildered Belle claimed to be her husband’s representative and told Suzy that he had indeed relayed the information. But later on, Belle approached Tom and said he had lied to Suzy, which he was able to refute.

She had other things on her mind, Tom pointed out. “Your business, your family… Me.” He increased the emotional blackmail as Belle began to feel bad, saying, “I just have this dream of us being the perfect little family, coming home to you and the kids and the dogs.” He said, “I’ve just got this fantasy in my head,” even after Belle informed him that this wasn’t what she wanted. Most likely trying to make up for my awful upbringing.”
