In Coronation Street, everyone is focusing on Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), the lawyer attempting to establish Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) innocence in Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance.
Roy was one of the final few individuals to see the disturbed character, thus attention quickly shifted to him when the police began looking into Lauren’s disappearance.
Roy provided a wealth of information when DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and Craig (Colson Smith) questioned him.
He claimed that in addition to frequently watching out for Lauren, he also frequently cleaned her apartment as a favor for Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and even laundered some of Lauren’s items there.
Naturally, we took Roy at his word, but other individuals haven’t felt the same way. Roy unexpectedly finds himself in the center of a horrifying ordeal following his detention.
Many individuals, the majority of whom don’t even know Roy personally, think the cafe owner was involved in Lauren’s disappearance and have made it their mission to cause Roy as much anguish as they can.
Next, while at work, Dee-Dee confides in Adam (Sam Robertson) and Alya (Sair Khan) that she fears Roy is being unfairly singled out by the evidence.
Afterwards, after discovering Dee-Dee, Carla (Alison King) informs her about Roy’s sleepwalking and the nasty calls.
Dee-Dee tells Carla that she’s doing everything in her power to show Roy is innocent, sensing the pressure.
But will Dee-Dee turn out to be the hero with the odds stacked against Roy and the abuse still going on?
Or will the adored figure go to jail for a crime he didn’t commit?
