Uneasy schemes and unsettling discoveries next week (Picture: ITV)

Next week on Coronation Street, there will be some unexpected findings that prompt dramatic action, some of which our favorite characters might come to regret.

After Tommy Orpington’s (Matt Milburn) departure, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is depressed, and gullible Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) believes they may save their marriage as a result.

So much so that he burns Tommy’s letter out of impulse when he finds it. However, everything collapses for him once more when Tracy decides to move to Spain and bids him farewell, meaning that this time it’s truly over.

While everything is going on, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) conducts further research in an effort to learn the truth about the missing money from Underworld.

It makes things appear extremely dangerous for Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and forces Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) to make a significant admission.

Monday April 1

After reading Tommy’s letter urging Tracy to go to Spain with him, Steve conceals it. Tracy tells Amy she misses having a man in her life over lunch at the Bistro.

When Steve gets home, he is shocked to see Tracy there. As he goes in his pocket for Tommy’s note, Tracy says she wants to get back together, and Steve freezes dead in his tracks. Steve is reassured by Tracy that Tommy was a careless error, and she vows to return permanently.

A reserved Tracy watches Steve leave for a celebratory bottle of wine. Dev is appalled and won’t serve Steve after he admits that he and Tracy are back together.

Tracy suggests that they head to the pub instead, and in an effort to keep his marriage intact, Steve destroys Tommy’s letter.

Bethany assumes Daisy must have spent a fortune as she gets out of Tim’s taxi carrying her shopping bags, but Daisy snarls that everything comes from the Alderley Edge charity stores.

A curious Bethany notes that they should maintain a low profile when it comes to money as she overhears Jenny ripping a strip off Daisy for going on such a shopping spree.

After Tim admits that he picked Daisy up from the heart of Manchester, Bethany comes to the conclusion that she was lying.

David notifies Maria that Audrey will look to replace her if she doesn’t get back to work very soon. Maria confides in Gary that even though they need the money, she doesn’t feel ready to leave Liam and that she will lose her job if she doesn’t return soon.

When Hope contacts the Kabin, she asks Brian for a paper round. When Brian verifies that there is a vacancy, Hope demands an advance payment and adds that she needs the money because there is a man in the precinct who is peddling a cheap laptop.

When Daisy finds the apple pie burnt to a crisp, she leaves Bethany and Ryan to make dinner and goes to buy a replacement. Jenny calls Ryan to the bar, and Bethany takes advantage of the moment to quickly grab something from her handbag, dig through drawers, and run out.

Intrigued, Bethany pulls Stephen’s journal from her backpack and leafs through it in the builder’s yard apartment.

Maria, who is anxious, leaves for work, leaving Gary to homeschool Liam. While chatting about possible hairstyles with a soon-to-be bride in the salon, Maria peeks at an app on her phone that lets her see Gary and Liam in the apartment through a covert camera.

Maria is fixing the bride’s hair when she checks her camera app and becomes alarmed when Liam goes into the restroom. Maria quickly packs her luggage and leaves after seeing on her phone that Liam hasn’t come out of the restroom yet.

Dee-Dee confides in Adam and Alya at the attorneys that she fears Roy is being unfairly singled out by the evidence thus far.

Jenny covers her fear in the café when Carla pokes fun at Bethany’s charges. A tense Jenny tells Daisy in the Rovers that they have to figure out a method to return the money to Carla without her knowing, but Daisy believes they should just keep quiet.

Sally is admiring Daisy’s new luxury purse while the karaoke night is in full swing. Jenny is berating Daisy for flaunting her wealth, but she doesn’t realize that her words are being recorded over the microphone.

Carla senses the tension building as Ryan intervenes to defuse the situation. Jenny is extremely distraught when Carla finds her in Victoria Garden. When Carla questions Jenny about Bethany’s suspicions regarding Stephen’s money, Jenny crumples and says that they took it but intended to return it.

When Violet and Dylan arrive at No. 11, Sean is overjoyed, but Violet clarifies that they are merely calling to retrieve Dylan’s elegant shoes for the hearing, not for a social visit.

A girl from Dylan’s last class, Bella, approaches him as Violet and Dylan are examining their menus in the café. She extends an invitation for Dylan to join her later for ice cream in the precinct. When Dylan gets at the precinct, he is shocked to see Mason there waiting for him.

Bernie is startled to see that Lauren’s mother’s contact information has been put online when her phone pings. After reading the post, Roy is horrified. Against Evelyn’s better judgment, he contacts Lauren’s mother, Kerry, and leaves a voicemail expressing his condolences.

As Bernie and David rush to Roy’s defense after a patron at the café makes fun of him and implies he’s to blame for Lauren’s abduction, Roy is horrified to learn how much grief he’s caused his pals.

When Michael hands Dee-Dee Ed’s last demand that arrived in the mail, she’s shocked to see how much Ed still owes.

After arriving from Birmingham, Ed informs Michael that Aggie has given him the order to march and that he will not be going back home.

Hugging him consolingly, Michael swiftly moves the last demand letter out of sight.

Maria sobs uncontrollably at the salon and disappears to confide in Audrey about her fears.
