Coronation Street spoilers – Steve’s shock act of betrayal to keep Tracy with him

In forthcoming scenes on Coronation Street, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is ordered to hide a significant secret from his wife Tracy (Kate Ford) as they work to mend their relationship.

Steve was shocked to find that Tracy had been having a passionate affair with Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn), a painter and decorator who used to be a football player, since the start of the year.

She took advantage of his vacation in France to allow Tommy to dip his brush into her paint pot.

When Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) caught them in the act and confessed everything to his closest friend, the affair became public knowledge.

Steve took advantage of the chance to get even with Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) by telling Tracy at the bar that the Weathy County hero had taken a new job as an assistant coach in Spain.

She went over to the Viaduct Bistro and informed her new bit on the side that their relationship was ended, hiding her disappointment and acting as if she already knew. Since then, she has refused to speak to him.

In later scenes, Tracy confesses that she misses having a boyfriend in her life over lunch with Amy (Elle Mulvaney), and she goes back to No. 1 to make up with Steve.

He swiftly covers the letter he got from Tommy, urging her to join him in the sun, after she professes her love and apologises.

They go to the Rovers instead of receiving a congratulatory bottle of wine from Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin), indicating that not everyone is overjoyed about their reunion.

Steve burns the letter covertly as Tracy leaves for the bar, but it seems too late since she chooses to relocate later that week.

He hides behind his newspaper while leaving drinks, trying to disguise his displeasure.

Steve, poor guy.
