Sally Dexter left Emmerdale as part of a major storyline
A star of Emmerdale has spoken out about how “upset” she is about leaving the show.
In the ITV soap opera, Sally Dexter, 63, portrayed Faith Dingle. Back in 2022, Emmerdale fans saw heartbreaking scenes as Faith passed away in the arms of her son Cain Dingle.
After receiving a fatal cancer diagnosis, the character’s health worsened and she ended her own life. Sally, who is now performing in the play The Children, spoke with the Daily Express outside of practice.
“I was disappointed by it,” Sally said, adding that her plot was crucial. “It’s the aspect of the soap industry where they really care about their viewers; I know Emmerdale and the others are very much the same.
They really care about the kinds of things they’re presenting to people, and their research and thinking processes were well-considered and deeply emotional. Therefore, I’m happy that others were affected in the same manner as it was for all of us.”
