Coronation Street star Emrhys Cooper has shared how he was actually unwell during his audition as he reveals more about who Rowan Cunliffe really is and what viewers can expect in upcoming scenes.

Viewers of the ITV soap first saw the former Desperate Housewives star on-screen as Rowan last month when Leanne accompanied Simon Barlow to one of his seminars at the Chariot Square Hotel. Leanne was taken aback when the group mentor approached her and offered her some unsolicited advice.

Before long, Leanne was won over as Rowan was left encouraging her to share her innermost thoughts and feelings. She was seen trying out some of her new teachings at home with Nick and it’s been revealed that the Bistro owner will be sucked in further by Rowan with potentially dangerous consequences.

March was Emrhys’s first month on Corrie. Perhaps the most well-known role for the actor, singer, dancer, and director is that of the male protagonist in the StyleHaul drama series Vanity, which is nominated for an Emmy and stars Denise Richards and Karrueche Tran. Devon-born 39-year-old has previously acted in films including Mamma Mia, Walk a Mile in My Pradas, and his critically acclaimed feature debut, The Shuroo Process.

Devon-born actor 39, said that he was “already struck by how well I knew the character” when he disclosed that the role had been submitted via his agency. “The dilagoue was a little challenging because it didn’t just role off the tongue, but I knew I had to nail the role so I worked very hard for a few days,” he said to the Manchester Evening News.

“I was very ill as a dog with the flu when I taped the audition, but I gave it all I had since I thought I had a chance. On December 20, I received the job offer—it was the greatest early Christmas gift ever.”

“Rowan is high up at the Autovalent Institute and he’s charming, but not slimy, relatable and down-to-earth – a far cry from the misty-eyed mystics you could get,” he said, giving us additional information about Rowan. Rowan’s Autovalent is a hiring process. He makes extensive trips to speak at conferences and seminars, spotting those who are more “receptive” and urging them to join the group. After doing that, he trains them on how to recruit other people. Despite this, he views Autovalent favourably and attributes the organisation with completely changing his life, since he was formerly a wild boy.”

Emrhys, who has been open about his parents’ experiences with cults over the years, shared his thoughts after learning more about the character and stated, “I’m just really grateful that Coronation Street saw that in me because I have all that knowledge but they didn’t know it.” It was an amazing surprise.

According to spoilers, Toyah Habeeb will discover Leanne viewing one of Rowan’s motivational videos the next week. Despite Leanne’s enthusiastic praise of his lessons, Toyah is dubious. Toyah becomes quite worried when she learns from Simon that Leanne has to be paying a large sum of money to the Autovalent Institute.

Later, Nick notices Leanne closing her eyes, to which she responds that she is “reality coding,” an effort to filter out the unexpected. Meanwhile, Debbie Webster informs Toyah that Rowan is heading back to the States and that she is looking forward to seeing him go since she has had enough of his absurd “reality coding” talk.

A panting Toyah shows up and starts questioning Rowan about the Autovalent Institute as he is checking out of the hotel. Toyah, a licenced therapist, admits that she is aware of Rowan’s reality coding nonsense and implies that it is detrimental for him to be doing it. Toyah cautions Nick that Leanne’s fixation with the Autovalent Institute must be put an end to before they embezzle all of her money, since Rowan is a con artist who preys on the weak.

After spending several years stationed in the United States, Emrhys remarked, “Rowan isn’t phased by Toyah’s reaction – he’s used to it.” “He wholeheartedly believes in the cause and isn’t thrown easily.”

“What you’ve seen of Rowan so far is only the tip of the iceberg,” he said, hinting at what was to follow. He’s incredibly intelligent and skilled in his field. Leanne may be in awe of him, but he may also have other people under his spell who could end up at The Institute. I was surprised to see how many connections and analogies I had with this plot after reading the next scripts.”
