In Emmerdale, brother-in-law Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) starts to have doubts about Tom King (James Chase) because of his actions.

For the last several months, viewers of the ITV soap opera have watched in horror as Belle King (Eden Taylor-Draper) has put up with her husband’s domineering behavior.

In horrifying sequences, the enamored businesswoman immediately felt sorry for Tom when he shoved her out after she turned down his proposal, and he has repeatedly used emotional blackmail on her since.

In addition to attempting to harm his wife’s chances for employment at Take a Vow wedding planners, he has put a tracker on her phone and, in a disturbing sequence, smashed the urn that her mother Lisa (Jane Cox) had used to hold her ashes.

Earlier in the week, he arranged a fictitious burglary in which his mother’s ring was reported “missing” in an attempt to increase her sense of guilt.

In the episode from tonight, April 5, Tom came downstairs to see Belle sitting at the dining table in terror. She had not gone to sleep because she thought the supposed thieves would return.

He insisted that she attempt to get some sleep and that he would go to the police station alone, suggesting that she come with him.

He pretended to be in way to the station and called her from a roadside to report the crime, and she reluctantly agreed.

Belle told her family at Wishing Well Cottage that she was too afraid to spend the day alone in her home and wanted to be left there.

Tom was asked by Cain whose pawnbrokers he had visited when he arrived, and Cain promised to track out the criminals and retrieve the rings.

Tom seemed to be close to weep when Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), later in the day at The Woolpack, supported her brother’s assertions and said that Cain was the one guy not to mess with.

He was obviously scared, and he told Belle’s family right away that there was no need to look into it more since it may make Belle even more anxious and afraid.

Tom sighed with relief as he left the bar, raising an eyebrow in the process.

Is Tom in danger?
