Coronation Street spoilers: Peter’s emotional exit story confirmed as Roy saves Carla

It seems like Carla Connor (Alison King) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) are beginning to go divergent routes in Coronation Street.

Carla’s main concern ever after Stephen’s (Todd Boyce) passing has been keeping Underworld from completely collapsing. Carla knew on tonight’s (November 8) episode that if the crew didn’t execute a crucial order, everyone’s employment would be in jeopardy because the plant is in a complete disaster.

In an effort to raise spirits, Carla and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) made up the story that the team was getting paid. The workers decided to go on strike when Izzy (Cherylee Houston) got a text from Beth (Lisa George) confirming that the money Stephen took from the Underworld account would never be returned.

Peter, no doubt feeling the guilt, decided to step in to try and help Carla.

He subsequently summoned a small group of Underworld employees back to the plant, but he feigned their presence by enlisting the assistance of Simon (Alex Bain), Roy (David Neilson), Evelyn (Maureen Lipman), and Nina (Mollie Gallagher).

During a break from working late into the night, Peter was able to spend some peaceful time with Carla.

There, Peter struck up a conversation about how his friend over there is trying to find new employees for his business and suggested that he and Carla sail off into the sunset, leaving the cobbles behind.

In the end, Carla declined. She contended that it was not feasible for her to leave Weatherfield and pack up her life the following week. Shortly after, a client called, so she returned her attention to the factory.

Peter was now in a really bad situation.

Even though Peter adores Carla, he feels stuck and overcome by the feelings and memories of Stephen’s passing whenever he stays in one place.

We already know that Peter will leave the cobbles for the Christmas break, but will he take up his friend’s job offer and arrange to see him before 2023 comes to a close, prepared to embark on a new chapter in his life?
