The Emmerdale cast demonstrated their musical and vocal prowess to help co-star Danny Miller with his large charity gala in Manchester, proving they are a gifted group. Danny, a beloved character on Emmerdale, and his friend Daniel Jillings manage the Once Upon A Smile charity, which helps grieving families.

Their annual fundraising gala is well-known for its celebrity attendees and unexpected star appearances. This year was no exception, offering a jam-packed Saturday night of entertainment at The Point at Emirates Old Trafford.

Additionally, Danny knew that his pals would be there for him when they hit the stage for some incredible performances.

At the beginning of the evening, Emmerdale’s Vinny Dingle, played by Bradley Johnson, dazzled the crowd with a performance by his band The Trilogies. The group, which is well-known for their interpretation of swing standards, dazzled with their vocal harmonies while sporting matching gold jackets.

Later on, Bradley joined the enduring Emmerdale band with more of his co-stars from the serial opera. The band has been led by soap opera icon Dominic Brunt, well known as Paddy Dingle, for many years.

The name of the band’s latest iteration, Somewhere near Hotten, is a reference to a fictitious place in Emmerdale. And at the large charity event over the weekend, they had the crowd up and dancing.

Olivia Bromley, who portrays Dawn Taylor in the soap opera, and Katie Hill, who plays Sarah Sugden, joined Dominic, the band’s bassist.

While one of the poignant films about the people the organisation helps was playing in the room, Katie also brought the crowd to tears with a beautiful solo performance.

Danny and his friend Daniel Jillings, who is also an actor, are organising the gala. They usually want to give their guests something extra.

Additionally, boyband 911 and Kelly Llorena’s performances at the evening’s conclusion dazzled the attendees.

After taking a break from the soap opera to become ITV’s King of the Jungle, Danny recently made a stunning comeback to Emmerdale in the role of Aaron Dingle.

After returning to the serial in October, he told the MEN last month that he is enjoying life now that he is back shooting on the Yorkshire set.

“It’s been great, it’s really like putting old shoes on,” he remarks. It was kind of like coming back to school after the break when I initially returned last year.

“I suppose at first I felt a bit in the shadows, but now I’m back into the full swing of it.”

After a one-year hiatus, Danny thanked his coworkers on the soap opera for their unwavering support at the ball in 2023.

In 2011, Danny and Daniel organised their first charity function in honour of beloved Emmerdale and former Corrie producer Gavin Blyth, who passed away at the age of 41 from cancer in 2010.

The two would later use it as inspiration to create their own nonprofit, Once Upon A Smile, which provides child bereavement services around Greater Manchester.

Sidley House, their dedicated headquarters in Old Trafford, opened its doors in 2016 and offers a variety of enjoyable activities, including play areas, art workshops, and a mini-cinema, to children who have experienced loss.

According to Daniel, “We’re very proud of it. Being a tiny charity, it is very amazing to have the support of individuals each year.

“We began as two Manchester boys with no prior experience working for charity, but we’ve changed the way Manchester’s grieving families are cared for.”

“Sidley House requires £200,000 in annual fundraising to remain operational. Our staff is regularly referred to assist young people who are grieving.”

“It’s getting more and more difficult to raise funds, but with the ball we just want everyone to have a great time on the night and support the charity.”

Danny and his girlfriend Steph had their second child, baby daughter Edith, in August, to join their two-year-old son Albert, since he last hosted the event in 2022.

Nevertheless, they managed to spend a fun-filled evening together at the ball, where Steph looked stunning in a black, strapless ballgown as she took part in the festivities.
