In Coronation Street, a lot of captivating incidents have taken place before to Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) upcoming bail hearing.

The renowned café owner is now confined to a jail cell after accusations that she killed Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

It seems improbable that he will be freed anytime soon given the evidence that is against him.

In tonight’s (April 24) episode, niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), who is still hoping that papa would be granted bail at a future court hearing, was overjoyed when he called her.

She was thrilled to hear from him on her birthday, but she was also concerned about his dog Freddie, who went missing earlier this week when Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) was walking him.

Fortunately, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Corey), Nina’s ex-girlfriend, had another idea in mind. She had gotten in touch with the dognappers and offered to provide them some information on Roy in exchange for returning the dog.

The two guys sat down next her down at the station, and she started spreading some misinformation.

When Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) brought Freddie home, she was ecstatic, but Nina questioned if Asha was seeking a reunion after seeing her thoughtful action.

She bought her some cupcakes, misinterpreting the situation, and got a necklace in exchange, but Asha informed her they weren’t meant to be.

Nina, poor thing, more heartache!

Georgia Taylor’s character Toyah Habeeb was shocked to learn that the police had descended upon North Cross Park on a tip from sleuths that Freddie had been excavating Lauren’s purported burial spot.

She told Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) that she had given birth to a stillborn daughter 23 years before and had then buried her remains in the park. Fearing that her greatest secret would soon come to light, she went to the police station to make her confession.

She and her sister Leanne (Jane Danson) honored the baby, whom she had named Rose, and buried a teddybear after learning it was a false alarm.

Roy proceeded to isolate himself from the outside world and to abstain from food in other places.

Roy started having unsettling images of Lauren after the jail guard voiced his concerns. This time, Roy saw Max Turner (Paddy Bever) in his mirror.

Has Roy discovered a repressed recollection of Max’s role in her abduction?
