“Dawn doesn’t think that Billy is that type of person.”
Star of Emmerdale Jay Kontzle seems to have ruled out a romantic plot between local doctor Manpreet Sharma and his character Billy Fletcher.
Next week, Manpreet will betray her lover Charles Anderson in the ITV soap opera, which is centred around an unforeseen bond between the two characters.
Manpreet signed up for Billy’s new personal training classes at the village hall and soon recognised she had a crush on him.
The next week, after getting wasted at The Woolpack with her pals, Manpreet gives Billy a kiss on the lips. Billy turns her down, but when Charles discovers what transpired, problems are going to arise.
When discussing Manpreet’s sentiments for Billy with Digital Spy and other media, Jay chuckled and said, “It’s one of those things where you’re like, ‘God, why have you done that?'”
However, I also believe that Dawn and Billy are so solid in their connection that nothing can truly end it. Nothing about Billy, in my opinion, would cause Dawn to believe otherwise.
“Dawn doesn’t think that Billy is that type of person so I don’t think it’s really a significant worry there at all – it’s just one of those things.”
Billy had experienced something similar when Gabby Thomas made an attempt to kiss him in the past. By establishing limits with Gabby, he remained faithful to Dawn.
Jay went on, “He loves his family and he loves Dawn.” Billy has centred his life on his family from the beginning. Billy was specifically pursuing Clemmie and Lucas’s child, who, despite the fact that we had children of our own, now have a child of their own that completes the pair.
“I don’t think that any outside influence is going to fracture the relationship, it would be something internal.”
Next week, Billy and Dawn’s young boy Evan will receive a major medical diagnosis about his leukaemia.
The Manpreet and Billy scenes will broadcast in Monday’s (April 29) episode of Emmerdale.
