We can’t stop grinning as we see soap opera pair Amy Walsh and Toby-Alexander Smith celebrate a very romantic milestone.
2019 saw the former EastEnders star and Emmerdale actress cross paths on a Strictly Come Dancing episode.
Amy was standing by her co-star and series winner Kelvin Fletcher, while Toby was standing by Emma Barton, their co-star.
The pair struck up a conversation throughout the play and decided to go on a date.
Amy stated: “I joked, ‘Me and my future husband,’ thinking it was going to be a date, after someone sent me a screenshot of us in the audience after the show.” But I thought, “This is it,” after our first date.
Additionally, the August of this year wedded pair took a unique journey down memory lane on social media.
The caption for the photo Amy, 36, posted of herself and Toby sipping cocktails said, “Celebrating 4 years since ‘that night’ at @bbcstrictly.” Despite being quite chilly, we were both determined to enjoy our “night off.”
Toby, 32, shared a flashback photo of the two with the Strictly crowd as well.
He wrote: “Today was four years ago.” It’s been quite the journey, lovely girl.
Toby portrayed Grey Atkins in EastEnders until last year, while Amy has been Tracy Metcalfe in Emmerdale since 2014.
In a remote home in Montenegro, the pair exchanged vows in secret, surrounded by friends, family (including Amy’s Girls Aloud sister Kimberley Walsh) and, of course, their soap opera coworkers.
Over the course of Christmas 2021, Amy gave birth, and the couple released a joint statement announcing the news.
It has indeed been a hectic week! I hope everyone enjoyed theirs. On behalf of the three of us, happy new year. At the time, they said.
In March 2022, Toby was fired from EastEnders when murderer Grey was apprehended by the authorities after going on a murdering rampage.
Amy, on the other hand, made a surprising return to Emmerdale earlier this year in the role of Tracy, who secretly got married to Nate Robinson.
